  1. I actually marched in the Westshoremen with Jeff Ream's father. Additionally, Jeff's father and my father knew each other for years. Drum corps has literally been an important part of my life since birth. Stay safe and healthy Terri!
  2. I have no idea. Drum corps has been a part of my life. My father marched in drum corps and consequently I was at my first show when I was 3 weeks old! I literally grew up in a drum corps family. I marched in the Westshoremen (my father was on the board) for several years, I marched in the Reading Buccaneers for close to 20 years, and I met my wife there. Drum corps has been a life long passion for me. And sadly, my favorite corps (the Cadets) is finally poised to make a comeback this season. If the season is cancelled, I will miss it dearly!
  3. Can't wait. My wife and I will be there!
  4. The voice of reason...very refreshing! Thank you sir.
  5. Go to dci.org and look at their home page. Gave me chills!
  6. You are correct about 2013...that was a really tight ensemble!
  7. 1. 2000 - Legendary show, really solid corps, top to bottom. Great show to see live...what a night that was! 2. 2005 - One of the coolest shows I have ever seen. Attended their rehearsal a week before finals and they were scary good. You could just feel a championship! 3. 2007 - My attitude about this one has really changed over time. Honestly, did not like some of the narration; however, probably one of, if not the best corps I have ever seen. And they really nailed their finals performance. I do believe they were the best corps at finals and they probably lost because of the narration.
  8. Once again this thread devolves. Is there any point in rehashing the Cadets poor design choices? Anyone with half of a brain is well aware of the Cadets design failures. Maybe some day this thread will actually promote the future of the Cadets. Funny that some of the same posters who shame the mention of Hopkins keep going on about his poor design choices. I better just shut up before I get banned from this site.
  9. All corps have work to do this time of the year. However, the most important work right now (for the future sustainment of the Cadets organization) is on the admin/financial side of the house.
  10. I'm not sunshine pumpers or dark clouds. But I have been to every camp (except the Florida camp) and the Cadets are in very good shape. And that's the simple truth...not an agenda. Does the management team have work to do? Yes they do; however, this team is qualified and ready to move upward. I have more faith in the current management team and staff than probably...ever!
  11. Thank you sir for the reasonable response to the Cadets webinar. The cynicism about this organization is really sad. I have faith in the current team and believe they are on a positive trajectory. Feel free to insult me if you want.
  12. I do know from friends on staff at the Cadets that the brass staff is not settling for members with lower levels of talent. They are being patient and not rushing to fill the brass line. The Cadets are determined to build a great brass line.
  13. I watched the alumni webinar last night. Denise Bonfiglio announced that the Cadets percussion and pit are full and all are contracted, the brass line has a few open spots and they gained a couple new members at the camp this weekend, and the guard is 50% (which is ahead of this time last season) contracted.
  14. Yes, the revenue from US Bands helped offset some of the poor financial management for the Cadets. I would be worried if Hopkins was still in charge and they separated from US Bands. With that said, Hopkins is not calling the shots anymore and the current team has a wealth of financial management experience. They are and will use that experience wisely. The Cadets (on and off the field) are on a positive trajectory that will pay off.
  15. Don't know what was said about another corps from the northeast having camps in Florida...don't really care either. All I care about is that the Cadets are finally headed in a positive direction and they are starting to move past the Hopkins crisis!
  16. And your point is? And if you really think the Cadets are going to be a feeder corps for anyone, you obviously have not been to any camps this year. The current Cadets are far from a feeder corps for anyone.
  17. This thread gets more absurd by the minute!
  18. Exciting times for the Cadets and their fans! Thank you sir for all you are doing to help the Cadets move upward.
  19. This is a well thought out move by the Cadets. The current management team is on top of all the details regarding this new start for the Cadets!
  20. This thread has become exhausting. I fully expect this simple comment will prompt an insult.
  21. It is actually good news for the future of the Cadets.
  22. There have been several on this thread who have presented first-hand information. The information didn't support the doom and gloom agenda and was mostly ignored. I am pumped for the 2020 Cadets! Have a great day sir!
  23. No, I interpret those who refuse to accept first-hand information as people hoping for the demise of the corps. You can pick the flag up now.
