  1. And even when first hand knowledge is presented, the speculation and mind-reading continues. Confused why any drum corps fans would hope for the demise of any corps. The current Cadets management team has been dealing with a very challenging situation. A little benefit of the doubt might just be beneficial to all concerned.
  2. The voice of reason...thank you sir! The cynicism and speculation in this thread is getting beyond ridiculous.
  3. Thanks for the update sir. Very excited for the 2020 Cadets!
  4. Thank you sir for bringing some common sense to this ridiculous conversation!
  5. Fair enough...thanks for sharing your thoughts.
  6. I guess it all depends on how cynical one is about the Cadets. Personally, I trust the current management team at the Cadets. Their main focus is sustaining the Cadets into the future and giving the marching members an amazing and safe experience. It really isn't necessary to be mistrusting of the current Cadets team. The reason to be cynical about the Cadets is long gone!
  7. The Cadets financial issues are a matter between DCI, the Cadets management team, the marching members and their parents. Not sure why anyone else needs to be involved. I applaud the current management team at the Cadets for sticking by the organization and making tough decisions to help ensure the future of this great drum corps.
  8. Actually, I did have a conversation at camp about financials. The Cadets are facing the money issues head on and working towards solutions. Sorry I interrupted the standard gloom and doom with some good news about the Cadets! And by the way, financial issues are not exclusive to the Cadets. The current DCI touring model is not sustainable. I hope your favorite corps gets more support than the Cadets when financial troubles hit.
  9. Actually, for the first time in years (maybe ever), the Cadets have a plan and they are not just kicking the can down the road!
  10. You might want to check your sources. Spent the day with the Cadets yesterday. You paint a very different picture of the Cadets than the reality I saw yesterday. The corps is very positive and all our excited for the upcoming season.
  11. The arrangements so far are stellar. Jay Bocook is on top of his game and the Cadets sound like the Cadets again!
  12. Had a great day with the Cadets yesterday. There is huge difference between the perception created by DCP and what is actually happening with the Cadets.
  13. OK...fair enough. Thanks for the info!
  14. Well that seems peculiar. If DCI is really trying to ascertain if YEA still operates the Cadets, might I suggest DCI call Denis Bonfiglio. I'm pretty sure she will answer the call!
  15. I just reached out to a friend of mine on Cadets percussion staff. He's heard nothing about potential probation.
  16. You nailed it sir! I have no problem with DCI allowing all instruments...as long as they are not marching in the drill with brass, percussion, and guard. That is a common sense solution to this issue!
  17. Last year I was cautiously optimistic about the Cadets. This year I am optimistic! Merry Christmas sir.
  18. It does really seem odd to me that some would have issues with a female drum major. There have been some amazing female drum majors through the years!
  19. Wow, that's amazing. There has never been a woman drum major in DCI. This is a major development! Sarcasm off.
  20. Enjoy! https://m.facebook.com/cadets.org/?tsid=0.11447741675093837&source=result
  21. I would really enjoy meeting you some time. It is truly a small world!
  22. I'm a dude. And I respect you and your thoughtful words on this forum!
  23. There is a story behind the new horns; however, I don't think it is my place to speak for the Cadets. All I will say is the Cadets had something special and unexpected happen!
  24. Yes, the brass was playing on brand new Yamaha horns. New pit and battery equipment coming soon.
