  1. Look out for Grenadiers this summer!!! Bigger and better.....that's all I have to say for now Oh...and the music is even hotter than last year
  2. We will be holding a clinic for everyone that want to come in and play with us from 12:30 to 1:30pm on Sunday!!! Of course, it's free!!! The music's awesome, the members are on fire and the staff is hyping it!!! Come experience the fun and see what we are all about!!! The 2011 season will be one, if not the best, Grenadiers ever had!!! Better come now while there is still spots open!!! See you there!!!
  3. Try looking at Cadets charts for instance.....you'll notice how freaking weird and ridiculous the stickings get sometimes. Left handed rim shots are just not my bag...it's already hard enough to play a perfect ping shot off your right as it is or just a plain old gock shot! When you can write your own book, put those left hand rim shots!
  4. It is my belief, and knowing Colin from back when he was teaching me at Brigs, when you work your left hand lead and play exercises off your left hand, it will fix your right hand almost instantly! I've tried it myself and it improved my right in everything else I was playing! Another reason behind this is to have you think about what you play and it makes your muscles work twice as hard to achieve the same sound quality and interp. Usually, players use their muscle memory once they get on tour because they play the same licks and parts and exercises for 60 days straight.... this is when brain farts and ticks start to happen. It's just another way to have you mentally awake at all times! And, Colin is a beast! He fixed my 8 years of bad left hand diddles in 5 minutes!!!
  5. Do not worry my friend...we have the rights!!! This show is freaking amazing....believe me!!! Wait 'till you see us this summer
  6. As weird as it sounds, the weirdest field I have been on is the Syracuse Alliance Bank field. From a member's standpoint, there is a small wall right in front of the pit area. and it's just not parallel to the field itself. It's lined up with the line between 3rd base and home but not with the drum corps field (starts off together and at about the the 50 it's 10 feet off!). But from a fan's standpoint, I know it's a good stadium.
  7. Didn't hear about the newcomers? Molson Export! The underdogs this season in my opinion...They'll be a close 1st or second...who knows! Thats a crazy 11 point gap between 5th and 6th!!! We'll see what the judges think!
  8. Hey! I heard you guys are freaking awesome! Best of luck! Hope I get to see your show!
  9. My apologies if I offended anyone on here. I love every corps out there! I guess it's a drummer thing.....But seriously, I love ALL OF YOU! Bottom line to all this crap: May the best corps win this freaking thing at DCA!!! ...and YES I AM ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. You got a point on the "bored to death" and about Bucs beeing that good. But what snare lines have you marched to say that Empire's snare line is on fire? You have gotta to be kidding me! I have marched more lines than most of you on here, and let me tell you my friend, this year's Empire snareline is not "on fire"! They had years where they were by far the best...just not this year! Try considering marching demand over book demand...then you'll get what I'm saying. They are good...but just not great in my opinion. Did you see them this past Saturday? Cause I was about to fall asleep just watching their faces...Maybe I just have a different opinion on what "on fire" really means. Don't get me wrong...I thought the other lines above them would have ######## snarelines...until I saw and heard them.... Anyways, it will all turn out to be the best drumline at Finals winning. As simple as that. If it's Empire, then be it! Btw, good luck on making them? What are trying to say? Good luck on making the line? I could teach those guys! And I could tune these freaking snares better too...
  11. #### you! Btw, I am definetely not marching Empire for at least these 2 reasons: 1- I refuse to be in a line that doesn't play anything (notewise) and play the easy game. 2- I like to march and move a lot and have some kind of physical demand. I still like how they get the crowd going, but, as a drummer, not my team...
  12. Is it just me or everybody thought it was an amazingly ran show with everything beeing perfect? Next to Hurcs, I don't know any corps that had a good rehearsal facility. It always has been that way at that show...what don't they understand? No pun intended to the members...they just perform and do what they are told. But two thumbs down, way down to the Hurcs organization. Reminds me of stories my dad tells me about DCA back in the 70's! I hope the corps I will be marching with next summer won't be going to that show so I won't have to drive 8 hours to the richest State and practice in the crappiest facilities... Thank you Hurcs!
