  1. if anyone knows of a good crossmen one that would be sweet.....
  2. you gave like 4 actual comments in this entire thing, don't quit your day job. if you actually want to review a show maybe you should say something about it.
  3. that would be nice.... they're ranked 15th at the moment. hornline sounds really good, playing much louder (and better) than last year. new caption head is awesome. drumline is steadily improving. colorguard looks good to me, but i'm not a guard guy. it'd be great to see xmen on the field at finals again.... but i'm not gonna hold my breath.
  4. Hey you jerk! first of all, it's spelled Kelley. and i don't get shot down by ALL the chicks, just most of them. which is better than i can say about you john...
  5. thanks for the kind words about the old team. i started in senior corps when i was 14, and did that whole thing for 5 years. then this past summer, i finally made the crossmen, and i had a great time. if you want my personal advice, come on out. trust me, you'll realize at the yea camp that you don't have to be an amazing musician just to try out. the worst thing that can happen to you is you get cut, but at least you can say you tried! i tried out for 3 years before i finally got spot. but i'm also a snare drummer, there's usually a LOT of us. even if you do get cut, you'll still have plenty of time to go to a div II or III or a senior corps. most senior corps have horn spots open most of the season! (i know, i filled one when i got home this summer). and also, trombone and baritone are the same thing once you get the valves down, so don't worry about that at all. i hope you decide to come out. if you do, go up to the tall skinny snare drummer with the "Josh" nametag on and say hi. i hope to see you there!
  6. evans heads are alright, but they feel completely different. i'd stick with remo if i were you. not to mention i don't really like the evans snare heads or tenor heads...
  7. Phantom - IP Paul Rennick Glassmen - IP Colin McNutt Crossmen - VF Lee Bettis when will the MS3 come out?
  8. ha, al you beat me to the chase. i was just gonna mention that...
  9. 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14 is the way to go. bushwackers actually did it the year before blue devils did. it's the best setup. oh and pearl definately has the best tenors IMO. i am a snare drummer, but that's how i feel.....
  10. i tried the sticktape.com stuff, it was alright. i actually prefer the home depot stuff though. maybe i'm crazy.
  11. you could maybe at least mention where in the country you are. a state would be helpful.
  12. say what you want, but cadets were freaking good. did they have the coolest book? probably not. but they were the cleanest out there. they earned everything they got.
  13. that's actually not even everyone. there was another row at the time, PLUS people auditioning while that was happening. i was one of the people auditioning at that time (figures the only time i'm not at my drum they put the picture on the website). plus, that was only the CADET drummers. the group for crossmen was just as big too. we ensembled with 94 snares...... that was dirtier that dirt.
