  1. I never complained, not once. I simply stated an opinion. That said, if you want specific examples, go back and read through last nights show threads. I believe it can be argued that there are clearly some corps that are plying specifically to the sheets, all I’m asking is if given one option, would you do one or the other. Not looking to flame any specific corps. If you’d like to play that game, RAMD is still online.
  2. Nope, not getting into a finger pointing game. That’s not the intention of this thread. Simple question…
  3. It’s clear this season a lot of the corps have placed an emphasis on points rather than connecting with the masses. While the performance level is amazing, the design is clearly pointing towards the sheets and not the overall fan experience (yes this can be argued, but seems to be a theme). The question I pose to all of you, if you had one choice and had to design a show that appealed to the judges, or to the fans, which would you choose? Is it more important to create a complicated show that performs well on the sheets, or design a show that has massive fan appeal? And yes, you can do both, but I’m not giving you that option. You have to chose one or the other. Ready, go!
  4. I, for one, think too much emphasis is being put in winning. I would much rather have the crowd screaming for me multiple times that sacrifice that for a trophy. I’m n ten years, no one will remember a boring show that won, but they will remember the show that made them cheer wildly. No one will remember a show with complicated musical passages, but they’ll hum the show that emotionally connected with them. If you have to sacrifice being remembered to win, I would much rather be remembered.
  5. I was a bit disappointed by the Bluecoats from a design standpoint. This is the first show from that that I haven’t liked in quite a long time.
  6. You guys are really going overboard on the app thing. Give it a rest already.
  7. Mental note, I need to be high before watching Bluecoats again.
  8. BAC is going to be the most debated show of the season. I’m intrigued to see what they do to add GE. I do think they will compete for caption awards, but struggle with GE. But they seem like they can be a medalist.
  9. Technically Boston is going to be a “monstah” this season, but not sure if they have the GE built into the show design.
  10. So far I’ve enjoyed Phantom, but really having a difficult time finding a program that is accessible.
  11. I’m cutting Aunt Flo a break tonight, we should give them a show or two to get the bugs out.
  12. Apparently this is what happens when you hire a sound consultant, your poor ### sound gets even worse.
  13. A bit, but not too badly. I would imagine this week was all taken into consideration when they planned out teaching the show. From what I was told last week, the corps was slightly ahead of schedule as a result of no rain days this spring. It’s been relatively dry, which is unusual for the Carolinas.
  14. I originally thought the same thing as you, Cap, but was surprised to find out that I was able to put attention on both during the show. Same concept as a second screen while watching a game. I think we’re more accustomed to it now. It was a nice addition when I watched it last week at the rehearsal. As for judging, the narrative is it will NOT factor into judging whatsoever. The judges will still be focused on the product on the field.
  15. No!!!!! Oh man, this sucks. Is there no way at all to get you to a show? Maybe we can all chip in and rent an ambulance , and wheel a bed into the handicap section. I’m open to suggestions, we can’t have our guy not see drum corps this season.
  16. Show is complete, but word has it the end is so fast and complicated that they wanted to spend the week cleaning it before putting it in front of a crowd. That’s why you got the standstill at the end.
  17. I told you… didn’t I. Say it! Say I told you so!!
  18. I told y’all this was gonna be cool! I got to experience it Monday at GW. Freaking amazing!!!
  19. Loved the 2019 show. Some great audience moments and the overall theme worked very well. This show feels very opposite.
