  1. New DCI video with interviews about the show!
  2. If I had a dollar for every year I heard that Tony Hall came on tour with Phantom to fix the crappy drill/visual that they started with, I’d be a rich man.
  3. Ugh, it really is hard to believe that Michael Gaines actually thought the tarps would work under the lights, or that that drill is somehow made better by them. Early 2000's me is extra disappointed in him. Frankly all I can think is that those tarps really need some Preparation H...
  4. That she thought to do a show about female empowerment though the lenses of a monarch( A woman given power because of ancestry and divine right, not through tangible skill, etc.) is so mind bogglingly out of touch with what Feminism or Female Empowerment stands for, it's crazy. He who shall not be named did a better job of what the 2019 show is trying to do in the first minute of the 2007 show: "I believe in community, yes, I see we’re all different, but together, what we can accomplish is amazing. I believe in hard word, we can achieve great things with practice and more practice. I believe in choice, no matter what the World brings, this is my life and I get to choose. We believe in Progress, and we will continue to work towards what we say is possible. We believe in the power of Community, Practice, Choice, Progress. We believe in Now."
  5. They won brass. They did have the highest total music score at Semifinals. Bluecoats had the highest total music score at Finals and Prelims(by .4)
  6. And a tenor drummer ate it on the way out.
  7. And what did I say earlier today. Bluecoats won Visual including Guard.
  8. 1 Bluecoats 89.375 2 Blue Devils 88.725 3 Santa Clara Vanguard 88.050 4 Carolina Crown 86.850 5 Boston Crusaders 86.150 6 The Cavaliers 84.350 7 The Cadets 82.300 8 Blue Stars 81.900 9 Phantom Regiment 79.100
  9. Yikes, Santa Glara Vanglare... I'm still wondering climbing up represents going underground.
  10. I didn't say that. I'm pretty sure he'd be doing just fine if he wasn't at The Cadets.
  11. A couple of thoughts: 1)Who would have thought bringing in a WGI Percussion designer would come up with a WGI Percussion show. 2)Making the centerpiece of the show the assault of a women makes me want to throw up and is just the stupidest idea to distant this corps from it's previous director. 3)Why is Tom Aungst even with the corps? He marched 81-84 and was on staff for decades. Isn't someone like that too close for comfort to the previous director, just because of the optics? 4)Manic Pixie Dream Ballerina Monarch? Why have the queen character in lite brown? I get it story-wise, but visually it's like playing the worst game of Where's Waldo ever. 5)The doxology of the Maslanka implies some sort of Divine Right of Leadership that she takes back at the end, but as a Parliamentary Democracy(Are the three others at the end the Prime Minister, etc...?) And NO TROMBONES played the theme? Missed opportunity. Big time. 6)They probably should have just done Avon HS Symphony 4 show from 2017. That's the textbook show to transition to a new era.
  12. I'm not entirely sure that bringing back someone who lived in the same house as Hopkins during the mid-80's is the best course of action right now.
  13. Of course, just do it exactly like Spartacus...🤦‍♂️
  14. Context clues over the season my guys...not just one nights scores.
  15. Scores from two shows on the same night have Bluecoats up a tenth in Visual Analysis with a guard that has already beat Boston. The judges are saying that Bluecoats can win Visual this year.
  16. BK beat Cadets in Proficiency and Analysis, but had a .4 drop in their guard score from Ogden. The Proficiency and Analysis scores are .1 from being exactly what The Cavaliers got at their last show. Their right there .2 below Boston in Prof as well.
  17. BK is currently tied with The Cadets for 7th in Visual and they finished last year 10th in visual.
  18. Yeah, BK percussion is that good this year. Since the RCC show they have been within .4 of BD in Percussion. Jeff Ausdemore marched The Cavaliers in 1989, was the BK Caption Head in the late 00's, and would probably be really nice to you even if you said this thinly vailed accusation straight to his face.
