  1. Wow...the DM's uniform fits terrible. Just sayin'
  2. Does anyone have critiques from the show? How did this thread turn into a G7 discussion??!!!
  3. "And a Cadet staffer threw a yellow cone up into the stands with a vengeance...what was that about??" Read this on facebook...anyone see or know what this was about?
  4. Um...they removed the stripe from their pants in 2011, and it hasn't been brought back. Too bad..it really makes a difference in the look of their uniform. Definitely masks dirty feet without the stripe though.
  5. Just an FYI...most of the top 5, maybe top 6-7 don't buy their uniforms. They are made for them in return for the company using them in promotional/advertising materials to sell uniforms to other potential customers.
  6. no, that has nothing to do with the pouf of the top. The bottom of their sleeve is as slim as any uniform on the field, all the way up to the elbow, so the pouf as you call it wouldn't do anything to prevent that. It's a "Cavalier" uniform. Look at any cavalier/musketeer/pirate look and they will have this same "mutton" style sleeve. It is keeping with the style of a cavalier of ancient days, just like their iconic Guido logo. And just so you know...this is the same jacket they have worn for the past three years and the same sleeve they have had for years and years. Not new jackets this year at all. just covered up the sash and added black gauntlets.
  7. Not seeing a mike anywhere...this is from Allentown.
  8. Corbin, on 06 August 2012 - 06:07 PM, said: This "don't worry, be happy" attitude is completely off base. The members pay money for their experience. They don't get paid to be placed in the context of a bad experiment. This is a corps that has not been out of the top 5 in over a decade. Members come into the corps counting on this tradition of excellence. The year is nothing but bad staff choices. If they want to experiment, there are other corps these staff can go to. It is not a simple explanation. It is bad design, which leads to bad everything else. If nothing else, the Cavies should have tried to get the best they could after Gaines and others left, not settle. I know the Cavies will be back in form soon, but it should never come at the expense of the members' experiences. Having toured with them this year quite a bit, trust me when I tell you the members experiences are overwhelmingly upbeat and quite the same as last year as a top 3 corps. Every member would love to win it all, but each and every day and each and every show they hold their heads high, swag onto that field with all their Cavalier-ness and wow the crowd. It's a different breed, those boys. They just love being Cavaliers. It's that simple. So don't fret about the staff letting them down, as many believe. The guys dont believe that either, and they are having a great time this year
  9. Uhhh yes they are...there are NO mikes on any Cavies horns. I don't care what anyone thinks they see, or hear. I've been touring with them, seen and heard that solo many many times. There is no digital, wired or wireless mike on any brass player. Do you have any inside information (more convincing than being with them every day during tour) or any other facts to prove your obvious insistence of such allegations? I'd like to hear them. I've set up uniforms for members in the past that have used mikes and carried packs to wire them or hold controls. (Cadets) There is no such apparatus in any Cavie uniform this year.
  10. Confirming: there are NO miked solos from Cavies this year. Maybe DCI recording mikes are picking it up, but Cavies have no mikes on any brass this year. NONE.
  11. I have watched that soloist play while on tour with them with full out electronics and he is not miked. Never has been. None of the brass in Cavies is miked. Really. No tiny mike, no wireless mike. Just him and his melophone.
  12. Nope, there aren't. Been on tour with them for a while now. No mikes, no amps.
  13. Cavies soloists are NOT amped/miked Just left tour with them. Absolutely not. No mikes, no amps for soloists.
