I think I understand. It isn't an easy subject and it can be a painful thing to watch. But knowing a show can be meaningful and moving to others, would you call for them to refrain from doing it, or would you be OK just to take a 15 minute break from the action yourself and return for the next corps?

Jumping to accuse people of having an anti-cadets double standard (as explained in the part of my post you left out of the quote) is the only thing I was referring to.

I believe there were only 2 posts that passed comparative judgment, one person who thought the 2013 Scouts show was MORE offensive than 2002 Cadets, and one (me) who did not. I have no affiliation with or bias against any corps and have liked many Cadets shows over the years (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2011 and 2012 for instance) so please leave me out of the tiresome 'double standard' accusations. I have always striven to believe that, however that 2002 show felt to me, the intention was not to be pandering or exploitive. I will continue to do so because I believe in being fair and trying to see the best in people. You might give that approach a whirl yourself.

That's not that much of an anomaly though compared to other shows. They are going to have to be better almost everywhere else to overcome the difference.

I wondered about this too, but the only comments I have seen from military members were very positive. There is another thread actually expressing appreciation.
