  1. The webcast was PERFECT here. It was a beautifully clear picture, even when zoomed to full screen, and the sound was great. I thought it was the best broadcast so far, by far!
  2. Thanks for the review! I was wondering how Bluecoats' new ending was....
  3. My votes go to Ram Brewery and Rock Bottom. Tasty beer....
  4. Um....that would be alphabetical order....
  5. Wow, I feel bad that you haven't checked out this music yet. "The Red Violin" is an amazing movie, and the music has been performed by major orchestras around the world, along with incredible violinist Joshua Bell. I think it's great that Phantom would tackle this for a show theme!
  6. Have some of you never heard of things like Hotwire? There are many ways to keep these trips cheap, and Indy's not a very expensive city to begin with. Also, maybe go to Thursday's show and skip Saturday's, if the price of tickets is a problem. You see way more corps on Thursday for way less money. Just my 2 cents....
  7. Any reviews from last night's show?
  8. I was at the '88 prelims and finals when the Scouts came from 'nowhere' to win, and I think I remember the crowd going absolutely nuts over their winning performance. With all the amazing quality in every corps, why do they need to be 'pre-judged' by their performance placement? If Blue Devils, for example, are the best, shouldn't they be number one no matter what time they perform? Why can't they go on at 6:45 and still win? If they don't, maybe they weren't the best to begin with....
  9. Thanks for the review. Could maybe the small crowd size (I think the show website said there were 557 people) have something to do with corps energy and impact? Did the crowd seem into the whole cell/text voting thing?
  10. In 1988, when Madison won in an upset, I think that prelims (now called 'quarterfinals') and finals were random draws. It was very cool, since anyone could (and did) win!
  11. As a band director, we continue to stress proper concert/performance behavior at all of our events. We have a list we print in every program from middle school through high school, and we give serious talks to all our band and choir members about their behavior as well. It really has made lots of progress, as now we hardly ever have people talking or entering/leaving during the concert. It really just takes many, many announcements at each and every show and continual help from everyone in charge (parents, directors, chaperones, etc.). Talk to your local show promoter and ask them to make announcements between every corps!
  12. The hornline was smokin' back in early June, so I can't wait 'til they get back to Ohio so I can hear what they sound like now! Go BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  13. Isn't the word you mean...."dissention"? (-:
  14. Or you could pull off what 27th Lancers did once....changed their whole show during the mid-season break! Go 27!
  15. Regional tours used to be the norm. I still miss all those Drum Corps Midwest shows. I think one summer there were 9 shows in Ohio alone!!!!
  16. SCV's show was nice, but there was lots of parked moments by the hornline. Beautiful forms and great playing though! App Spring has always been a favorite.
  17. I'm thinking the 'Coats still have to finish closing drill....
  18. Thanks for the review! I was wondering how Bluecoats would do in their first field show of the season. I'm glad you enjoyed them! Go Bloooooooooooooo!
  19. I thought it should've happened last night. Musically, Crown was MUCH stronger with a more mature brass sound, their total show concept is much more complete, and they had much more GE both musically and visually.
