  1. Great advice everyone. I really appreciate it!
  2. I'm not a guy trying to start a corps, i'm not looking to buy anything in bulk. Just a random guy wanting to a single Kansul 3 valve soprano from some other random person out there. End of the season is almost here, so keep this post in mind if you're thinking about selling! gabek[at]real-ity.com
  3. That sums up what I think about the show right there. Welcome Back DCM indeed :)
  4. Lots of people tend to be using things more like a snare stick than a tenor mallets on toms. Who here has any opinion comparing them? Until this year I was just mallets on tenors, and then I picked up a pair of VF Vegas. I couldn't play, they were too long and too awkward after playing with the shorter mallets. For experimentation purposes I cut down a set of vegas to the length of a VF Corpsmaster MT1. I sanded down the bottom of the shaft enough to fit a rubberized grip handle from the same MT1 model. Tada-custom tenor mallet sticks. They obviously arn't balanced all that well, they arn't made to be like that. Is there any "sound like a stick but plays like a mallet" type things to check out? Thanks!
  5. Pioneer has a fun line to watch, and some great people to be next to retreat. I'd like to thank DCM for the chance to meet them!
  6. I agree.. take them off the field. Drum corps is all about the "whole picture" right now... not about finding ticks in a line's performance.
  7. Stick tape.com stuff has less "tape ooze" and is generally better for the task in my opinion
  8. Are you selling the full set only, or one at a time.. or either?
  9. Maybe someone should just create drumcorpsparkinglot.net It could even have video clips of corps doing marching basics, sweet! :P
  10. I'm thinking Dynasty is probably the cheaper around, as i'm seeing a lot of start up groups getting them as first choice. I think it's probably because they are giving more discounts, however. Again, you should contact each vendor and let them know you are shopping around for a full horn line. My guess is because they want your business and you are a first time buyer without any allegiance to a vendor yet they would be willing to win your business with bulk discounts as everyone said.
  11. I do believe it is the diameter of the lead pipe?
  12. Two different questions... more chops, or more difficult?
