There are probably still a couple of concerns. Unless this stadium has great drainage there will be safety concerns with slipping by the marchers. The other problem might be with plugging in all those electronics after all that rain. I guess we'll find out.

We have heavy rains right now two hours south of Canton. Streets flooding, lightning, tornado watch, the whole bad weather thing. I remember going to Canton one year and they had a record 5 inches of rain in a two hour period which washed out the show. I'm hoping they get that contest in as the Canton crowd is super appreciative and knowledgeable of drum corps and they get to watch some great drum corps perform at the peak of their powers. Always a good drum corps night if it doesn't rain and the creeks don't rise.

I live 3 hours south of Erie on I-77, just past Marietta, OH. There are huge thunderstorms here and 2" of rain in the last hour. The good news is that this storm front is passing through towards the east, so any major rain might be over by the time the show gets here. I hope so. Erie has fine tradition for appreciating drum corps that goes back many decades.

That's a good question. I don't find it easy to figure out what Flo is broadcasting and when. I'd like to know if Flo is broadcasting semis. I think they are but it's hard to tell from the website. Does anybody know?

Being the DCI insider that I am, I have it on good authority that the new BD ending will put them over the top and bring the house down. This includes a disapearing/reappearing crown set, having priests in black robes doing 9's with rifles, bringing the whale person back to life and ending with a kneeling kick-out. Don't tell anybody. If you tell anybody I'll swear I don't know you.

Agree! It's hard to believe that as close as Blue Devils and Bluecoats were last night they still managed to squeeze two corps between them tonight!

I was on hi-cam tonight and the kick-out was pretty cool. The crowd went nuts.

Cadets...please...I'm begging you... DON'T NARRATE THROUGH THE SOLO SECTION WHICH IS THE BEST BALLAD IN DCI!!! The narration adds NOTHING and RUINS the duet section. I don't even know what was being said, it just made me angry because the solo is so beautiful. PLEASE consider what I'm saying. I'm just a fan who loves your show this year.

Fair enough. It was more than a few years ago and my feeble memory is just that much more feeble now. I do remember folks here on DCP joking that the judges before the show were checking in here first to study the spreadsheet so they would know what scores to award. Man, didn't we have enough conspiracy theories here without that one! 😄

I remember your spreadsheets! I almost had to quit reading them because you were about 99% accurate on the score +/- two tenths of a point, show after show! There was nothing to look forward to, you were eerily correct, always predicting the outcomes before they happened! 🤣

There's nothing to assume my friend, the rules are the rules. Top score wins. No excuses. You never have to apologize for winning. 😎

I noticed Cadets will be performing after Mandarins and before Phantom even though Cadets now have the lead in both 3-day average and most recent high score as listed on the DCI Scores page. Does anybody know how show order was determined? FYI I don't think it's a conspiracy, I'm just curious.

The rules for this contest are that the scores from both nights would be combined to produce the winner of Drums Corps East! You win by the rules, you lose by the rules. 😎

Probably my fault. Without looking it up I use the generic TOS (terms of service) or Terms and Conditions which typically address a poster's behavior on the site. Blue Devils used to have a discussion board, now discontinued since Facebook became the social medium of choice. They had three rules, more guidelines than rules which worked very well in my view. 1. No discussion of politics or religion 2. No profanity 3. Be nice

This is an incredibly emotional charged subject. Those are usually difficult to navigate since those involved have a strong personal investment in the outcome. My role in the drum corps world is I buy a ticket and sit in the seats. It's much easier in my case to observe in a neutral fashion because I don't have a dog in the fight. I really do wish you well and the others involved in trying to make sense of what I think both sides would agree has become a huge mess.

What are the black robed guard members? Are they witches or priests? I searched this thread on both and couldn't find anything. Feel free to point me where to look if this has been discussed before and I'll read it. My opinion is the witches are very effective on the field. They're bigger than life with those wide brimmed hats and their dancing without using flags/rifles etc. Very original idea and costuming.

Sir, you asked in an earlier comment what it was that you did to violate the DCP TOS. This ^^^ kind of personal attack and trolling will get this thread shut down and you possibly banned. Your choice.

The Rule at DCI east is that It doesn't rain unless Jeff Ream says it can rain. 👍 😎
