  1. Pretty sure those weren't just Bluecoat fans "fanboying" and "fangirling". It was the ENTIRE audience, minus a few who, for whatever reason weren't fans of the Bluecoats show, and of course some Cadets fans, though I'm sure even some Cadet fans were happy for the Bluecoats. Trust me, Bluecoat fans alone couldn't have made that kind of noise. Keep in mind, Bluecoats have NEVER placed as high as 2nd. The excitement was too much to contain and was not meant to disrespect the Cadets in any way. If the Cadets can leave the field immediately "out of respect" for other corps, leaving some with an impression of anything but respect, surely you can forgive elated fans who, out of "respect" for the Bluecoats went a little crazy. In your heart of hearts, you do know that there was no disrespect intended. Right?
  2. This is a pretty cool "standings" site...Don't know if you've seen it, but if you haven't, give it a look. http://www.dciscores.com/world/
  3. First...there is no music during the Bluecoats narration. Second, the Bluecoats say approximately 11 words, the Cadets go on for approximately 11 minutes. You simply cannot compare the two. This is another example of a Cadets fan starting a thread on narration! There has been, comparatively speaking, much less talk about narration this year than in the past several years.
  4. Yes, Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Clito Ruiz y Picasso is Spanish
  5. True, however, if BC would have just equaled their latest CG score of 18.1 instead of a 16.8, they would only be .05 behind PR tonight. Making the spread between them much smaller and the spread between Cadets and BC much larger.
  6. I sure hope that you're are not reluctant to "go into even more detail" because maybe..., perhaps, you're a judge. Is this why you're usually in "lurking mode" and will remain the for the "remainder of the season"? Your comments are a bit vague, but you seem to know a bit too much about "the value of a tenth". I really hope that you can reassure us on that. If you are a judge, I hope that you NEVER judge either one of the two corps that you've made comments about on this thread.
  7. I saw the show and wondered about the black dress too. Your theory might make sense if she were wearing the same costume as Alice, only in black. But there is absolutely no similarity to the two costumes. The shadow theory would be quite a stretch to ask an audience to grasp anyway. I'm not really sure what I would put her in to tell you the truth. I guess a black dress is as good as anything, it's just that this one looks like something you'd wear to your best friend's wedding, tall heels and all. Very attractive, just looks out of place on a drumcorps field, that's all. That's just my opinion. My guess is that most people probably paid little or no attention to what she is wearing.
  8. Thanks, great review. I agree with the reviewer. regarding Boston's props. Certainly didn't add enough to the show to warrant dragging them around all season. It seemed to me that, unless you're sitting right on the 50 yard line, it's difficult to even visualize what they represent. They simply aren't necessary. Otherwise, I felt Boston did a good job... better than the past 2 years anyway.
  9. I couldn't agaree with you more. Booing is just not the right thing to do. The members of The Cadets work as hard, and care as much about their audience as any other corps. Sad.
  10. Thanks for the candid review. Appreciate that you took the time. :)
  11. Wow! That's just awesome. I hope you all have the time of your lives! No matter what happens for the rest of the season, Glassmen, you are already winners this year.
  12. I would love to see bloo win, but ...I can't say that it's going to happen. Not that it's impossible, but it's hard to imagine something that's never happened before (for good reason). I mean, The Cadets are amazing! They are the 2005 champions and I'm sure that they will perform like champs. Regardless, what a bunch of lucky fans to see such a great lineup tonight. Good luck to bloo though, it sure would be cool if they could pull it off.
  13. Granted, a few people take their enthusiasm overboard, whether they cheer for Cadets, or Blue Devils, or Crown, or the Troopers, but generally that happens when someone cheers one corps at the expense of another. I guess I can't necessarily disagree with that. You're probably right, at least to a degree. I really just wish that certain posters would catch on that their "enthusiasm" can be interpreted in different ways and their corps really is better off if they try a little more generic and objective approach. And those who are annoyed by their comments are just better off biting their tongues. I see that you are an SCV fan...I am very excited about all that I'm hearing about that corps this year. I just LOVE it when they're "on". For some reason, when SCV is having a good year, it just makes the whole drum corps season more enjoyable. And no, to all you cynics out there, I do not now have, and have never had, any affiliation with that corps. Just a fan.
