  1. Sorry K, Will is not the problem here. He had more on his plate than needed. If show concept/design was offloaded from his responsibilities I think you’ll see his true potential. He’s a talented man. Let’s hope the organization realizes they need more “DCI oriented” design staff in 2020.
  2. I think Will Pitts has promise. Pair him with a visionary design head and I think he will flourish. He had too many responsibilities this year to concentrate his entire focus on arranging. Is that due to budgetary constraints? I don’t know. This year’s show had tons of potential if only it had more “trending elements” designed into it. Why isn’t marching while playing rewarded more these days? Yes, I’m a dino but to me this is the essence of drum corps. Now, onto the argument about RV’s hands being tied. Who tied his hands this season???? The title in 2008 was won on the work of Pat Seidling. Since then, unfortunately, the decline in placements rests squarely on RV’s shoulders. The corps needs someone who is able to work within DCI’s current environment to fight for what Regiment represents and based on given feedback make recommendations to the BOD on what is needed to be more competitive. This is not happening as far as I can see.
  3. Mr. Valenzuela needs to go. He has done very little/nothing to further the cause of Regiment’s standing. The BOD needs to make a decision to either go the route of Star and leave DCI to become a performing arts outreach or take DCI competition seriously. Fortunately they are on financial footing to do one or the other but not both.
  4. Drinking hatoraid and vodka again I see. Answer me this: Do you feel the MMs of Regiment 2019 should be going home ashamed because of placement? It’s not a major newsflash that the BOD and corps director need to turn this ship around like yesterday, but to trivialize the members’ 2019 season with a few badly chosen words is just hurtful. If all you can see is the competitive side to drum corps, then the activity failed you. Kumbaya
  5. Congrats on an amazing season of progress. This alum is proud of all the effort you put forth this season. Come back next season and continue that progress.
  6. Nope not mind reading. No, I’m not there. Your comment said all it needed to say
  7. You beat me to it! Anaheim ‘72,’73,’74 the epitome of military bearing and pure class! I’d really love to go back and watch 2005 Rhapsody live again. ####, that show was polished, engaging and FUN!
  8. Keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen! SUTA you’re sellin’ the heck out of the show.
  9. Express an opinion = pouting????When did that happen? Sounds like echoes of RAMD.
  10. I see it a as “darned if they do and darned if they don’t situation. One camp says try new pieces expand your repertoire while others say stick with only classical. How do you play to both? Unfortunately, the WGI approach to show design replaced sustained melody and musical development with pushing props around the field and staging for effect. I find most music used these days has been bastardized in one way shape or form. DCI judges are rewarding a whole different set of skills than what they used to.
  11. Thanks for a thoughtful answer. I’d love to see Adam Sage return. Michael Shapiro did some wonderful work with Blue Stars I think the “soul” of Regiment is their sound and story telling ability. If Michael can make that happen. I’m all for it.
  12. Sky's the Limit But they must keep the essence of Phantom Regiment intact.
  13. The days of Shaw, Sage and Rennick are long gone, so who would be the person to fill that role?
  14. Give us some ideas Karnac. You seem to have only the best interest of the corps @ heart. No, seriously. Name a few people who you would put in charge.....
