But should they have to have been the most improved? They deserve better design.
I’m not debating they need better design. I’m merely giving credit where credit is due.

Considering the number of new to drum corps members they are marching, the corps has overcome some pretty tall odds. These men and women have proven themselves worthy of DCI finalist, may they be rewarded as such.
Flame me for being a homer, but I think they have to be the most improved corps of 2019.
A big thanks to the whole Regiment organization for an incredible summer of growth. Please know your determination and grit are not only appreciated, it’s admired. SUTA

The relationship with the Rome show and Regiment goes back decades. The folks there are the best on the planet and they love drum corps. Good luck to all corps tonight. Give the fans a little love and it will be returned a thousand fold! Rome Rocks!
Keep pushing Regiment!

I’m interested to hear what complaints need to be made to corps leadership. I see that suggestion on this forum a lot, but there are never any specifics. Perhaps outlining a few talking points here and then communicating those ideas individually to those leaders would prove more profitable than all the frustrating, useless discussion. If it’s that important, let’s put our heads together and come up with a few action items we can all get behind and share them earnestly with the corps. What say you?

I’m wondering if the corps needs a larger budget to afford seasoned professional design staff.

I don't think asking "you have liberal friends?" is a legitimate question, which is what I was referring to, but you assumed otherwise didn't you?
You know what they say about assumptions...
Maybe it was the timing of your post. And yes about assumptions....and it does go both ways. No?

What does trolling someone mean?In Internet slang, a troll is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internet to distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses and normalizing tangential discussion, whether for the troll's amusement or a specific gain.
A point well put. Not trolling,’ anyone just asking a general GE question. I would think exposure to error would be higher when there is more light on the field.

Thanks for your meaningful addition. I’m asking a legitimate question not trolling for sarcasm.

So, just throwing an idea out here for discussion purposes. Could the time of day they are performing have an impact on their visual? Based on comments made previously in the thread, this years production is much improved over the last few. If that’s true wouldn’t their scores reflect it?

IMO there is no middle. You are a fan or you are not.
I do not like PR because they won. I do not like PR because they consistently did well. I like PR because they touched something inside of me when I first saw them.
I am a PR fan.
Eloquently put.

Really, you should give this a rest. It sets an absurd precedent for complaints.
It also opens up this unanticipated response: I won't donate to the corps anymore unless changes are made. That's indeed one way to help turn the tide - all fans and alums, en masse, stop donating to the corps.
With all due respect I disagree. We have a myriad of arm chair corps directors here calling for the heads of current staff and BOD, myself included. My point is...talk is cheap. It’s what you put behind your words that enacts change. Take it for what you will. I plan to start with the alumni group.

But seriously folks, year after year the same conversations occur, only this year the fans digging the show may only dig it on day one of finals week.
But seriously Phantombari1,
how will you help turn that tide?

I am pretty much done with this design team, particularly Will Pitts, but I agree that all the negativity on this thread isn't helping. You can really see the members putting their all into this show and that makes me appreciate it as I watch even if it isn't the best design out there. I hope the members are having a hell of a time out there and I'm sure they will make the final product memorable
Agreed. Give the MMs the credit they are due. Maybe this is an effort to buck the trend that is DCI.

The members seem to have it figured out and, by all appearances, are having a kick ### summer. And they are performing the hell out of a show that pretty much everyone around here wrote off from day one. One that a lot of people in the stands are really digging.

Well it looks like its that time of year again, Time for reality to set in for some, time for the I told you so's to say again I told you so, and time for the praising of the kids efforts to overwhelm all others.
It's really time for the ineffective board to resign and a cleaning of the house staff occur. This current group has no imagination and no vision, the kids deserve so much more,
Yup....that time of year. Have you served on the BOD???? Perhaps it’s time to run.
You won’t get an apology out of me for giving my brothers and sisters kudos for their hard work this season. They deserve that much. You remember tour, right?
Does change need to happen? Yes. Carping about it here isn’t cutting it. . Get involved as a volunteer then work your way up to corps director.
It’s that time of year to put the keyboard down and do something that will actually help change things.
Peace out.

I’ll bite. Will’s arranging is developing nicely but show design is not his forte. Bring in an upper tier visual design staff and Will can hold his own.
