  1. Would love to see something like this: For anyone wondering, these 3 sets of guillotines are from a fictional Ming dynasty detective novel called Bao Gong An based on a real life Magistrate named Bao Zheng from the Song dynasty. Magistrate Bao would use these sets of guillotines to execute convicted criminals. Each of the 3 guillotines had a different head, a dog, tiger, and dragon, and each was used to execute a specific class of criminals: dog - commoner, tiger - bourgeoisie, dragon - royalty. Bao Gong holds the same fame and adoration in Eastern pop culture as Doyle's Sherlock Holmes does in the west, having been adapted into multiple acclaimed Chinese operas, films, and tv-serials.
  2. Disagree. London and Danny Boyle put on a great show that perfectly captured the history, culture, and spirit of the UK.
  3. Ending is demanding a wedge kick! It's been 5 years, time to bring it back!
  4. When I first saw Spartacus in person at Mt. SAC I thought the show was very stale and was almost bored by it. We all know how that turned out. Give it time people. They are, after all, the masters of drama and emotional expression.
  5. Thanks DCP, for providing a much needed LOL. Yes, the corps isn't as polished out of the gate as they have been in the past, but come August, this show will no doubt be a beast. Richard Hinshaw also deserves some serious credit here, having done a great job in filling some Hulk-sized shoes! Very excited to see how this program will evolve as the season progresses.

  7. Has anyone tried tweeting Alicia Keys and Jay-Z directly?
  8. Phantom's Elsa, Crown's Freebird, and Boston's opener. Seriously, I whistled "Do You Hear The People Sing" the whole time while grocery shopping the other day. Was secretly hoping another drum corps fan would catch it.
  9. My heart broke a little reading the announcement. Hopefully Phantom will still be Phantom.
  10. Seriously, who cares? There were more butts in the seats, who cares if they paid $75 or $10? DCI is well and alive, and it's not going to fold like half the corps from the "glory days". Regardless of how much people paid, they got to see Drum Corps at its best, and I'll bet anything they'll be willing to come back next year.
  11. Here here. Only negative was that incessant buzzing from the lights. Other than that, I can't complain!
  12. There needs to be a TOC show in California. That is all.
  13. Thanks, Juliet wiped that show from my memory, now you brought it back.
  14. I wonder if the actor that portrayed Hitler watches these.
