You don't hear a lot of the things from the stands that the brass judges hear from the field.

Murfreesboro Mad Haus!

Multiple cracks, including the soloist. Disappointed by PR's performance tonight :-( -
Jersey Surf's new uniform?
marchingartist replied to MetalTones2012's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
color scheme reminds me of L.D. Bell. I like it. -
Obviously every corps changes their show as the season progresses. Some changes are more dramatic than others, ala Phantom '08. What are some changes you have observed from each corps and do you think the changes are effective? I'll start things off by mentioning Crown's body additions, the long chord at the end of the preshow/intro and the park and rock out added to Danzon. Are they effective additions? Hell yeah! Edit: If you can provide time stamp references on where these changes/new additions occur on FN videos, that'd be even more awesome.

The Minneapolis Mash-Up
marchingartist replied to MN DCI Fan's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I think he was saying ALL corps are better this year compared to the entire Top 12 of 2003. At least hope so. -

DCI should really should've rescheduled all the all-age corps to the end so the junior corps can get through since their scores are more important. -

More via txt: Blues Stars have new uniforms. Same design... but gray instead of blue now. Hot #### can they play! Wow wow wow! They should be scoring higher for sure. They have such a demanding show too. Sheesh. BS problem is that the show is so difficult that it is tough to master... but they still have a month to get it. And they are still nailing some amazing parts too! If they don't score above 80 tonight, it will be a travesty. -

Comments from a friend at the show via txt: Teal Sound was on fire tonight! They have come so far since Louisville. Just jumped to about 19th with that. Could be close to Xmen tonight depending... Crossmen seemed technically better but show is boring... yawn! Boston Crusader's show is pretty sweet :) Phantom Regiment's show helps erase the memory and bad taste of last year's show away. So beautifully musically. PR is also bookin it! Always respect a corps that can move and play at the same time. -
People these days and their need for instant gratification.

Avon HS Drum Corps Version!?
marchingartist replied to cadet93's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Drum Corps is just the elite form of marching band with different instrumentation. For now. -
Avon HS Drum Corps Version!?
marchingartist replied to cadet93's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
It took me a long long time to finally admit it, but I realized I like Avon's rendition of Barber's 1st better than SCV '99. Blasphemy, I know. *Waits quietly for the noose to land on neck* -

Crown's sound = Top of Drum Corps world. Avon's sound = Top of Marching Band world. -
New tour concept for 2011 proposed

2 of the G7 in addition to BD and SCV every year? For it. -
Things sounded great in Section 240, Row 6 when I was at BOA Grand Nationals. Yeah there's the reverb but I pretty much adjusted to it after a few groups in Semifinals. I also had no trouble getting chills at the goosebump-worthy moments. Really, it's all about what you make of the experience. I certainly enjoyed myself at LOS, and this was my first dome show ever.

Less West Side Story in the future?
marchingartist replied to nhsalan's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Finally, a semi-moratorium for all things Bernstein. I enjoyed Cadet '09 just as much as anyone, but it's time to quit recycling old ideas and music and put some creativity back into the marching arts. -
Finally, DCI Acknowledges "Issues" At LOS
marchingartist replied to Peel Paint's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Much, much better than I expected. It was enough to convince me to make the $99 investment on the Finals DVD set. -
Finally, DCI Acknowledges "Issues" At LOS
marchingartist replied to Peel Paint's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Seriously now, do you folks ever stop complaining? At least DCI has stepped forward to acknowledge that there are issues with the stadium, to me that seems to be a good step in the right direction. LOS is NEVER, repeat, NEVER going to be an outdoor stadium, so no matter what fixes they try to implement, the reverb will always be there. If you can't get over that, then perhaps it's time to break from Championships until 2018 or whenever DCI decides to move out. -
DCI World Class Finals Wrap-Up Video
marchingartist replied to Widge's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Because DCI secretly hates the fact that they made finals so they are snubbing them out of anger! Either that or the sound clips for the announcement weren't good enough to be used. -
Crown needs to find its own identity
marchingartist replied to GREENBLUE's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
It's not exactly a new "identity" but I see crown as today's Star of Indiana. -
An Open Letter to Santa Clara Vanguard

Thank you Santa Clara, for the most beautiful show I've ever witnessed in drum corps.
