  • Interests
I am interested in finding and saving as much drum corps info for the eras of the late 60's and 70's as possible such as pic's, programs, scores, articles, videos etc. Particularly west coast corps like Kingsmen, SCV, Blue Devils and various small corps of those eras. Kingsmen videos and pics are my top priority. If anyone has a video, pics, or clip of any kind of the Anaheim Kingsmen from 75,76,77 or 78 I will pay top dollar for it! :)

  1. Kingsmen rifle line was indeed hot!...there is one photo on the feild when they did a toss that even if you got a microscopic measurement you could not find a flaw. Hard to find in a photo. I don't know where that photo is but if I find it I will post it!
  2. Unfortunatly many of the photos in previous pages have been removed for some reason. I wonder if we can get them back? Or the people who posted them could repost?
  3. I wonder who will have the first post of page 1972? I propose that each page from here on should be dedicated to that years drum corps!...we are heading into the DCI ERA!!! :)
  4. Remember the jet plane going over during SCV's 69 production number?
  5. Not sure if this was mentioned yet but my favorite was 69/71 Reflections with side A SCV and side B Anaheim Kingsmen! Wore it out completely....luckily DCW had it in CD form so I have 2 copies!
  6. Although we appreciate your offer tremendously and it would be very nice unfortunately we do not possess the original 16mm film to do another transfer. The person we obtained this from took the transfer in himself and sent us a DVD copy. In the future if we obtain any film we will keep this in mind though. Anything would be better than a Walgreens transfer thats for sure! Thanks again for your generous offer!
  7. This is an old thread but I am just reading it so... Neil never marched...and if you listen close with a good drum corps drummers ear...he does not posess that distinct attribute that comes from a drum corps drummer moving to mainstream. However a great drummer... One who DID march, however, is Billy Cobham. And listening closely to him he totally posesses that distinct sound one would have coming from a drum corps background. I am not exactly sure which corps Billy played in but I want to say NY Skyliners....does anyone know for sure?...All I know for sure is he DEFINATELY marched!
  8. TOM FLOAT!!! Being a rookie in the Kingsmen snareline in 75 Tom was my biggest influence. I remember him hounding me time after time to keep my thumb solid on my index finger of my left hand. After nagging me enough he pulled me out of the line at practice and made me stand at the side with my thumb on my index finger for an hour. Tom was at times like a drill seargent when building his lines....but we all know the outcomes of his famous lines....nuff said!
  9. At first look I thought this would have been Vaqueros too but now that I see the Sousas it couldn't be. I think I see a couple of flute players in there as well towards the left about 8 players in. I know there were a few youth bands in those years in So Cal that performed at drum corps shows but the only one I remember was Whittier Cavaliers and this is not them.
  10. You were right the first time...that is definately Tom Float....he wore glasses back then...Jim did not. Jim played snare in 73 and 74...if you look at pics of him those years it does not resemble. Tom played snare 71,72,73 and 74 and if you look at pics of him from 71 and 72 it definately resembles.
  11. So whats Duffy's age here? Cause he looks like he's 12 with a fake moustashe! Ha Ha
  12. Yeah, didn't notice the pic was from 74. Couldn't be Pete Emmons or Bobby Hoffman. But the guy in the white shirt sure looks like Pete from around 68...and Bobby would have long hair in 74
