If you want a face full of mellophone, sit on Side 2 and bask during the opener. Bask all day.

Aw crud. Makes the chances much more difficult for a shot at a spot.

Blue Devils 1989 Ballad Soprano Solo

Could anyone even try to read the original post and stay on topic? It makes it very hard to read from the shadows if there's nothing good to read. -
I remember seeing the ageouts coming out onto the field and seeing the mass amount of Bluecoats in the back of the line. Easily 35. Probably more.

What factors define a corps "identity"?
Coathope replied to Photographer Jim's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Being a brass player, the sound of the hornline as a whole would give it away. Marching style and drill also could give it away. -
World Class Scores as of July 23
Coathope replied to oldbandguy's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
As a spectator, it means more to see competition. It would be impressive if BD pulls an undefeated season with a big spread, but I would rather BD pull an undefeated season with one or two corps just a step behind. It's all about predictability in the competition. -

The corps can't win without having medaled in their past. Has nothing to do with the prior year, according to CI. The CI theory explains how Phantom Regiment could win by a small margin based on prior Finals placements. It doesn't relate to placements within a season. -
It looks like a few corps may be missing.

That's what I mean. I want someone to close the spread. Anyone. Anyone at all. -

Someone better close that hole. It's bothering me. -
North Texas Festival of Drums and Vuvuzelas

With these numbers, though not entirely head to head competition, it looks like Boston has the capability to be top 6. Plus there's tough competition in spots 3-5. -

Nope, it's correct. Check out the DCI scores with the recap, then copy and paste it yourself. -

Star 91. During the cross to cross, watch the drum judge. Nearly taken out by multiple rotating lines.

Carolina Crown down to 7 snares
Coathope replied to DrumJunkie's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Three or two. Can't remember which. -
I have been wondering this for a while. It boggles my mind somewhat. What happened to the early 2000's dominance that Cavaliers had? Each and every year up to and including 2006, they placed 1st or 2nd.

Percussion Scores shakeup in NJ
Coathope replied to Carolina09Spirit's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
In the case of Crown's center snare, they wouldn't close the hole for the fact that she's just injured and will return in one or two days. The case that you're talking about is more of a "we can't fill the hole with a competent musician" hole. In that case, a drumline would more than likely close the hole whereas the hornline would put out a memo for experienced brass players to fill in a hole midseason. There are more proficient brass players than there are percussionists. -
According to last night's show, Crossmen is looking for members in all sections of the hornline.

It was a quasi joke. I don't know yet. I'm winging it as well.
