Blue Stars: Craig Adams in as Brass Caption Manager, who will be replacing Ryan Williams this coming season.
In-house promotion, so good for Craig.

At least one of the new hires that will reportedly be going to SCV will be bound to spark further discussion on this thread ( and elsewhere ) .

Parties is the know should strongly consider reporting to Troop and Onyx if this is the case.
Report what? That a poster on Drum Corps Planet said some students of their new hire allegedly complained about a poor experience? We cannot accept every comment posted here as truth or accurate.

The Blue Devils' best shows always seem to be about art history, including visual arts, literary arts, film, and theatre.
So hear me out: what if BD did a show about the Silent Film era? Has this ever been done before, by either BD or any other corps?

A rumor that was mentioned on page five of this topic.

2023 bluecoats being about drugs. Basically every Boston show poking fun at BD
The 2023 Bluecoats show was based on a poem that was about the repression of organized religion. Not drugs.

How are the Cadets doing financially? Are they back on solid ground? Money seems to be the only thing that can hold back the top corps these days.

Hard to predict placements. Phantom might be much better next year and finish out of the top six. The top corps are that good. Right now it is hard to see someone new jumping into the top four conversation next year. The Cavaliers are probably best positioned to do it with their percussion section. I think you have to compete for a caption win before you can challenge anyone in the top four. It will be an exciting season in 2024 and I really do not see any finalist corps this year taking a step back in quality.

Winning percussion puts the Cavies in the best position to move up and challenge the top four. You have to be able to win a caption before you can contend at the top.

I think I may have read it in one of the Facebook groups I’m in, but it seems that the successor has already been chosen and DCI should, apparently, be in good hands. That’s just vague rumors though
I heard in Indianapolis that a successor was selected but he/she turned down the offer. Not sure if there is a fallback candidate or if the search continues. I assume DA steers the ship until someone is hired.

Sitting in the stands in row seven, section 139, the Bluecoats just threw down a show that I haven’t seen out of them since 2019. Absolutely incredible.

I think Boston might just beat the Blue Devils at least once before this season ends. Maybe tonight.

Easily the Blue Stars best performance of the year. They have a favorable schedule the next week and a half with full practice days in between shows. Their work is starting to translate to the field.

I have been told there is a fourth tenor working his way into the show. They had to replace two tenors in season.

Because what we (In general) are really saying is we want scores and placement chaos.............as long as my favorite corps isn't negatively impacted by it each night.
Imagine the craziness on here if Drum Corps Planet existed back in the 70s when scores could go up or down ten points or more from show to show.

I'm sorry, but these scores need to be taken with an entire container of salt. You just can't have stuff so WILDLY different from a show that had a double GE and double MA panels.
Crossmen gain 2.35 points on PC with no rehearsal?
Crown gains a point over Boston in one show?
This is an anomaly show and should be treated as such.Last year most corps saw a one to two point jump in score the show after San Antonio. No one should be surprised.

I guess the Blue Stars simply need domed stadiums. Tonight’s show was head and shoulders above any of their previous performances.

I’m anxious to see the affect two days of rehearsal has on their performance tonight and tomorrow. I love this trippy show!
They had an indoor facility om Wed so that had to help them get in a full day of practice without heat restrictions.

I don't think it's such a wacky request. Heck - the NY Jets and Giants share the same stadium in the Meadowlands. They change the graphics on the 50 and both end zones every week. But they may be set up for it specifically. I can't imagine it's impossible. But I'm sure it will cost something to do it - and that may be the rub. I'm guessing it's not cheap. And if you are going to take the horse shoe off the 50, you might as well remove the COLTS from the end zone too. If they keep the contract for multiple years, they can probably put DCI branding in the end zones and use them over multiple seasons. But in the hierarchy of challenges... I'm not sure this ranks in the top 5 of things the DCI "top brass" are facing in 2023.
I think MetLife Stadium has the NFL logo on the 50. They change out the endzone turf between weeks.

Big jump in score tonight, congratulations Stars. Now onto Texas for a couple days of practice (stay hydrated) and hopefully another big jump in score this weekend.

Blue Stars finally starting a move. Hopefully they’ll have a third tenor on the field Saturday.

It probably will not happen tonight, but I think Blue Stars might be better than the Cadets. The drum line difference will probably be too much for the Stars to overcome.

The Blue Stars staff page reflects the changes announced in this thread. The 2023 design staff are all still listed and Markworth has been added to the page. Things can still change, but it appears the team are all coming back.
