I’m sure the guy will say it was consensual and the others in the room will say yes, they were in bed together. I feel bad for the girl because this is a difficult thing to discuss. She couldn’t tell the Bluecoats or her parents when it happened. She probably, incorrectly, felt she was somewhat responsible for what he did and his defense will be she didn’t stop me. Very bad situation for her. Now she is making it public, which is good, but if the guy stays with the Blue Devils she should make a report with Indianapolis police and have him arrested when he comes to town. If he raped her he needs to suffer the legal consequences.

I'm not freaking out or upset. I marched Madison. I have no stake in how Blue Stars finish, nor are Blue Stars one of my favorite corps. But, I think the show is fantastic and has so much more potential than shows that are scoring with them now and some above them.
I was incredibly impressed by what I saw last night.
You are not wrong. Much will be known next Saturday.

That’s a shame to lose summers due to injuries. Happy to see they will have four quads by finals week.

I think you’re comparing a July 9 show to last year’s championship will. The Troopers are far superior this year to last year. They’ll keep adding and tweaking to build up the impact points.

The Blue Stars have put in a full day of ensemble work in the show stadium today.

The top four is going to be a great battle this year. 5-9 as well. The scores from Whitewater tonight and La Crosse tomorrow will be telling. Can the Blue Stars and Cavaliers close the gap to Phantom? This is going to be a fun summer.

When I watch this show I can’t help but think of how great the Cavaliers were in the 90s and early 2000s.

It looks to me that Dekalb, Whitewater, and La Crosse will all have good drum corps weather for their shows this weekend.

I disagree about spreads being influenced by performance order. I think judges are capable enough to properly rank the corps and apply the appropriate spread. I expect all the corps to show a nice jump in scores tonight. Blue Stars and Cavaliers might close the gap on Phantom, but if it happens I don't think it will have anything to do with Phantom going on after Boston.

It is not unusual for one corps to be a point or two behind another early and come out on top at the end. Last year both Blue Stars and Phantom were beaten by Cavies by about two points, a little more in the Blue Stars case. Both corps beat the Cavaliers in the finals. The Blue Stars and Cavaliers had a 4.6-point swing first show to the finals. However, people posting about "room to grow" are really just guessing so I would not put too much thought into it. The picture will be clearer tonight. If the spreads open, that is good for Phantom. If they tighten, we may have more of a dog fight.

I’d love to see some spot swapping finals week. It would be fun seeing the third or fourth place corps on Thursday win it all on Saturday.

Congratulations to the Blue Stars on, from what I can tell, being the first world class drum and bugle corps to setup a Threads account. Already over 200 followers!

Troopers are improving rapidly. Great performance tonight.

I enjoy the Cavaliers show this year and think they will be a crowd favorite in Indianapolis. I also think the guard step-over will be pulled from the show by San Antonio. It was sloppy back in the day and still appears uncleanable.

I think DCI is better when Madison is a top-six drum corps. The Scouts in the past brought a certain excitement to the field just by entering the stadium that other corps could not match. They have a fan base that is ready to explode if they climb back into finals.
This year I see an improved drum corps. Maybe not a finalist, but improvement they can build on. I am not an alumnus, so I am not as emotionally invested as many posting in this thread. I would love to see the Scouts competitive with the top corps again.-
