  1. If you watch just the Crown visual and sync it up with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon the visual fits perfectly with the CD.
  2. How many posts can you make in a week that dog the Blue Stars? Is it not time to give it up?
  3. A little late for a "elite" corps to be finishing their show is it not? Maybe they made some changes in their closer, but to have just got it on the field? I am calling BS on this one.
  4. Actually, both corps jumped exactly 3.4 points.
  5. Based on last night's scores, SCV may be the surprising corps this year.
  6. 17 pages. Nice work curmudgeons. Did you have similar meltdowns when analog TV was switched off?
  7. Wow, 15 pages on the Blue Stars using a clarinet in an encore performance. I guess we really are desperate for something to talk about. I hope tomorrow night's shows do not get rained on. What is funny is that many of the people doing the most complaining are not all that old. I marched 30 years ago and look forward to something new from a drum corps every summer, even if it is a woodwind in an encore. stuff like this keeps me coming back every summer.
  8. I am guessing you guys did not socialize after the show tonight.
  9. What a bunch of DBs posting to this thread. When the Blue Stars announced their Indianapolis grand premier, they said they would be have individual performances by Blue Star members. I would guess this is what you are seeing. DCI has woodwinds competing in IE DCI week. This is no big deal and to think that anyone would walk out on a kid or boo a kid when he is giving an individual performance is simply asinine.
  10. Based on fan network videos and practice reports, it is hard to see which corps will drop down to clear a spot in finals.
  11. There is a new video up on the Fan Network focusing on the pit, but you can hear the rest of the corps in the background (on the march). There is no doubt the Blue Stars have stepped it up this year.
  12. That is why they do dress rehearsals and exhibitions before the season starts.
  13. I read somewhere else that the spot has been filled. I hope that is true.
  14. I cannot say where it I heard it, per forum rules, but the Blue Stars 2009 show is a big step up from last year (three years in a row I have said that). I know they want to finish higher than they did last year and based on how they sound in early June, I would say it is very possible. For those complaining that last years show was too easy, you will not be saying that in 2009. The brass is loud and playing some very cool music (the low brass is honking). The drum line is vastly improved and also playing some very good stuff. I am not predicting anything (as I have not seen the corps in person or on the field), but what I saw (heard) tonight, is a top six drum corps.
  15. 1) Cadets 2) Cavaliers 3) Blue Devils 4) Phantom 5) Crown 6) Blue Stars 7) SCV 8) Scouts 9) Coats 10) BK 11) Glassmen (hate putting them here) 12) Boston
  16. That is why we call them predictions. If you do not want to play, then don't.
  17. I do not know for sure, but I would guess you are correct in that they fit into the Factory theme. Hopefully, they will be replaced during shows by tables that look like WWII era tables. I am sure they will be.
  18. Well, we have heard the drums, we have seen the color guard, I am guessing the brass are next to be featured.
  19. That is really not true. There were quite a few people predicting the Blue Stars placing in 8th or 9th place after seeing them in early June last year.
  20. New video up today which features more color guard work. Very impressive. I am willing to go on the record and say the Blue Stars will continue to move up this year.
  21. I am not a drummer, but the video the posted today of their drum line rehearsing sounds pretty good. Link
