  1. Go Go Grennies!! I hope my Dad takes lots of pics!!!
  2. Again, all questions and concerns can be directed to info@stjohnsdrumcorps.com Thank you.
  3. It would be foolish of us to turn anyone away because they didn’t meet a certain age requirement. They were posted as mere guidelines, as Matt mentioned. Of course it is going to be a large project to take on (running the 5 divisions), but Rome wasn’t built in a day. Nor will a multi-division organization. Our goal is to be able to support all 5 and within the next few years, and be an organization that offers everything to do with Drum Corps, to everyone. So please, there are different avenues of expressing your concerns or your angst. Try to be mindful. Again, any questions or concerns may be directed to info@stjohnsdrumcorps.com Thank you.
  4. The original post was edited to reflect what the entire St. Johns organization has to offer. If you have questions or concerns, you may contact either Director.
  5. St Johns Drum & Bugle Corps is back!! That’s right, rumour has turned into truth. A once thriving Junior Corps in South Western Ontario, Canada has now become the St Johns Drum & Bugle Corps organization. The St. Johns Drum & Bugle Corps organization will now house several tiers of members. Below are the associated sectors of our organization. With Dan Lazaros as the Director for the Cadet/DCI programs and Matt Dean as the Director for the DCA program. St. Johns Cadets – Youth from the ages of 6 to 14 St. Johns DCI – Youth from the ages of 15 to 21 St. Johns DCA – Active ages from 22 and up St. Johns Winter Drumline St. Johns Winter Guard We are proud and excited to provide an organization with such flexibility and diversity. Our goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for your family, to participate in the variable options Drum Corps has to offer. Anyone interested can direct questions/comments to info@stjohnsdrumcorps.com While it was only announced June 10th that it intends to field a Corps in the 2009 season, there is much work to be done. Preparations are underway to represent both the DCI and DCA Corps on the field next summer. With that said, I would like to present an open invitation to all who wish to apply for staff and support positions. Please submit your resumes to info@stjohnsdrumcorps.com for review. We expect to be fully staffed by late July/early August to prepare for the winter program. If you are unable to fulfill the above positions, but have the time to support our organization, we would love to have as many support volunteers as possible. Our thanks to those for your interest and support!!
  6. As per Matt's post above, for those interested in applying, the email to forward your resumes to is actually on page 1. But 12 pages later, what can ya do :P All resumes must be in no later than July 1st. Please forward them to info@stjohnsdrumcorps.com
  7. Johnny, what did you march in Kavies 94/95? For my own curiosity?
  8. Granted there's bound to be some haters, but we're all adults (for the most part) and I welcome the debate. However, these are words and sometimes words may or may not convey the expression of the individual. Personally, I've always marched against St.John's and in those years, I had noticed that they carried themselves with pride and maintained a family-like atmosphere. I strongly believe that our staff and directors would prep us accordingly. DCI and DCA is far stronger in the US, however that doesn't mean Canada lacks talent on the field. I'm not about to hype it up or spazz out, but we'll bring our A game and see how well we do. It's going to be awesome to get together with people I've marched with or against and make new friends and have a blast doing it. If I walk away with a medal or a new friend, one way or another it was worth it. Cheers to everyone for keeping the thread alive. I can't wait to see whats in store for the summer!!
  9. I'm certain there is room for all those interested. As for particulars...yet to be decided upon. But updates will be posted upon release from the Director and the board. Stay tuned :P
  10. From what I recall, there used to be a good 15-20 Junior Corps just in the Southern part of Ontario. Add in those from all over the province, Quebec and out West...there is a ton of Canadian talent out there. Being 16-21 and no real financial responsibilities or a family, allow the talent pool to march the summers. For those who hold full time jobs, have families or other commitments but still enjoy the thrill of meeting new people and wow'ing the crowd...this allows them to remain involved casually. So I feel that a lot more DCA Corps will be popping up over the next few summers. Or at least I'd like to see it
  11. A few? I'm not too sure... Regardless, you all rock for keeping this bumped!
  12. That is a valid option that I'm certain the board will address. There are a number of topics on the discussion plate. It's overwhelming, yet very exciting and we're all anxious to get this off the ground!
