  1. For those fans that have active Flo Marching account subscriptions,, tonite at 8pm ( Central time ) Flo Marching's website will have a live broadcast with 2018 lot videos, interviews, etc in PR for the upcoming season. Featured will be 4-5 Corps, Mandarins, SCV, Bluecoats, Boston Crusaders among them. Not really sure how much new 2019 looks at the Corps show/ music we will get, but I intend to tune in anyway, and thought I'd pass that info along on its airing tonight on Flo Marching in case some might be interested..... ps, for Boston Crusaders fans, BAC's 2019 show designer for their show " Goliath " , Keith Potter, is scheduled to be interviewed about the show at around 10:15 EST for about 15 minutes according to Flo's website.
  2. I believe that the Boston Crusaders will have a VERY accessible, audience friendly, show here in 2019 for most Drum Corps fans that come out to the shows across the country. Both younger fans as well as older fans, imo. Only time will tell however.
  3. Interesting take on David and Goliath. ( warning.. its a bit of a lengthy read... but fascinating for those that have the patience/ interest, imo ) https://www.today.com/popculture/david-goliath-understanding-dynamics-power-struggle-8C11338370
  4. Lots of folks seem to have Phantom Regiment falling back, with some even thinking out of Finals by a lot. I'll predict they still have enough to stay in Finals one again for their 45th consecutive season. It would just be shocking to envision Phantom Regiment not performing on Finals Night at a DCI Championship. Its just hard for me to envision a Phantom Regiment not qualifying for a DCI Finals. I just can't wrap my head around such a dreadful scenario fall for such an iconic Drum Corps as Phantom Regiment.

  6. Until Hubby met you, Terri.. then his " single " minded days were through
  7. Good luck to the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup . Go Boston Crusaders this summer too. Incidentally the '' BAC " letters recently referred to " Building A Champion ". It is likely soon to transition to " Become A Champion " in the not too distant future in the world of Drum Corps, imo.
  8. ' Just returned from 2 days up in Vermont with the Boston Crusaders at their Move Ins there. Things are looking up. What a great show they are putting together for us Drum Corps fans this summer, imo. I talked to a local farmer up there immediately outside the University's practice facilities where Boston has been practicing their 2019 show. He tells me he's never seen his generally lethargic cows so happy the last couple of weeks. He tells me his cows are groovin' to the beat now. I told him its not allowed to take pictures. videos, audios of people at Drum Corps practice. He gave me a confused, funny look. So anyway, I quickly changed the subject and asked him if I could take a picture of his cows instead.. He said sure thing, no problem... Vermont cows, I'm told, are harder to please sometimes than even some humans are. Especially when it comes to Music. So if these groovin' to the beat Castleton, Vermont cows are any indication. Boston just might have a fabulous show that awaits us this summer, folks.
  9. I believe the percussion will blend with the brass very well. At least better than these two anyway :
  10. Is the name of the dark horse, " David" ?.. or " Goliath " ?
  11. Yes. Not only " inspections".. but the judging system BITD of pre DCI was a " points deducted system "utilized, not a " points build up system" like today thats utilized as well These are fundamentally two completely dissimilar judging systems and thus immediately rules out scores comparison attempts.
  12. What was pre DCI was great in accomplishments some years by the Boston Crusaders... and what Boston is recently accomplishing is great as well. Can't compare such disparate eras however.. unfair to both. The scoring system was so completely dissimilar in just about every respect, it renders scores and comparisons from pre DCI years to current DCI years totally meaningless, imo. That said, these marchers today in the Boston Crusaders are so talented, so hard working , so magnificent, its just exciting and pleasing of late to see them reach for the stars like this. They are making their own unique and special history in DCI competition now, and its fun to watch it all unfold, imo.
  13. To have healthy competition in DCI where its not always the same ol, same ol, up and down the ranks is actually quite good for both fans AND the activity itself, imo. There's lots to be thankful for on this Memorial Day. Thankful that we can still do this thing we call " Drum Corps ", because of the ultimate sacrifices of those who wore another uniform when they were young, and never got to enjoy nor complain beyond their young years here on this Earth. Without them, there is no guarantee any of us would be here today. I know I'm grateful for that selfless sacrifice they once made when the Nazi's and the Axis Powers threatened our Nation's very existence.
  14. I thought so as well. The replies on here by DCPers ( not all Boston Alums/ fans ) to a poster that stated he saw snare line mistakes in the 10 second nite video above really was pretty tame and mild, imo. Heck, even by any other social media outlet. It really was pretty tame, I thought. Thus, to associate DCP'ers on here in a meme with a violent Neo Nazi hate group where one of the Neo Nazi's plowed his car into others, and killed one of them, sure seems to qualify as the classic " over the top, overreach " response post to me as well. Like most other DCP'ers here, I don't see that this poster is in any danger of being "persecuted ", nor in any danger of being violently murdered by an intolerant, racist, mob of DCP'ers on here for his comment. Good grief.... lol !
  15. True. I'm pretty sure the New England Patriots are not a well oiled machine in summer's training camp, with all the new players having to be integrated into the N.E. Patriots system. Lots of mistakes made there at training/ practice Camp.. of course.. (And these are Pros) . But Bill Belichick and staff roll up their sleeves, go to work to properly integrate the new players and veteran players alike, cut down on the mistakes, and voila... we all know the results of the dedicated and smart, instructional practices that took place way back when, when detractors said " The N.E. Patriots running backs look unimpressive and mistake prone here at summer camp " and " I'm a former, experienced, many years, running back " to know this too. .
  16. Lots of Percussionists look and sound clean standing still. But as you correctly said, its a different ball game altogether when battery's are asked to move and play. Some can play well in unison while moving fast, others not so well. I'm like others on this Crusaders 2019 thread... waiting for the Percussion video and the Percussion music charts for some of the Percussion's show to be posted on Flo Marching. It should be posted soon. It was very instructional and informative when Boston posted it last May on Flo Marching, and was well received then with Flo's viewers.
  17. Simply to maybe just annoy you ? Don't let them however. The video was from the 1st few hours/ days of move ins at practice. If Corps snare lines were this perfect in May, none would need to practice. Then again, maybe as an experienced, " many years ", snare drummer, you and your former snare line were perfect and mistake free the 1st few hours/ days of move ins too..... who knows. If so, that might explain your snare line criticism/ assessment of the BAC snare line from this " lengthy and detailed " 10 second night practice video. If so I'll grant you a May Move In medal for that 10 second assessment from your computer screen, and thank you for it as well.🎖️
  18. I believe Brian Tuna made his remark tongue in cheek however, LabMaster.
