Blue Saders? If you can't beat them joinem? 😉

I have to admit that when I first saw these I thought it was the Blue Devils...The "True Blue Crusaders" is in reference to the words of the corps song "Giant" that is sung before every performance...

This corps is made of GIANTS

    We will never die

    For we are Crusaders

    True Blue Crusaders

    We are Crusaders

    Corps We Love

    Corps We Love

  2. I have not been to finals since 2008. That was when finals was in Bloomington while the "oil can" was still under construction. Phantom winning that year still goes down as the most exciting finals for me in all the years I attended and prior.  I haven't been all that impressed with Indy as a vacation destination though.  Years prior when the finals moved around to different places in the country, I would go for a vacation.

That said, I try to attend at least 3 or 4 shows in-person every year. I've had flomarching from their beginning as well. When I lived in the Northeast, I would usually attend Allentown, perhaps a Boston show or two depending on the year, and a Cadet show in New Jersey or Philly area...Now that I live in the south, I go to Atlanta regional (and/or other small local), MTSU, and occasionally Crown's show.

To answer the OP's question. I don't think I will ever "pull the plug".  I get way too much enjoyment from drumcorps to stop attending even with all the changes that occurred since my days of marching corps. I think though, in order for me to make the trip to finals itself again, my beloved corps BAC would need to be in real contention for a DCI title. I'd like to feel that in-person and definitely would make the trip to Indy to experience that.

Why pay attention to the books? Someone will donate something right?  It’s happened before… right?

I find it ironic that their board member William Huston was named as one of "Investopedia’s Top 100 Most Influential Advisors of 2022"... On another note...SCV was also delinquent in State filings in September of 2021...

I just feel so sad for the members...hope they find another home for this summer if they choose to march...

To the alumni on this page, from a recent age out.

Without y'alls support this never would have been possible. The current members fed off of your energy, your pride, and kept in mind the history of the organization and your words of inspiration, praise, and confidence helped the membership grow into where they are today.

I personally cannot thank y'all enough for the support. I spent long bus rides reading the comments on here and from other alumni on other sites and it was always humbling seeing how much y'all believed in us, even when we just got off a 12 hour rehearsal day in Texas or Alabama.

    Thank you

It's very cool knowing that some of you were reading our posts on here.  I meant every word. All of us definitely were with you all the way from start to finish.

You are indeed a GIANT. Perhaps we may run in to each other at a BAC alumni event in the future.

Nah I heard they're changing the judging system to whoever scores the lowest wins now. Bout to end BD's undefeated streak🫢

If they changed it to that in your hypothetical...I guarantee BD would adjust to that and win again....LOL

  6. To The Crusader Family,

I have to say. Here I am almost 24 hours later from that glorious victory last night and it STILL hasn't registered how wonderful this season has been.  I've had tears of joy for you all day.

Of course, this year has been unlike any year I've seen for decades. While I can't get together to celebrate in person with you, I don't want this week to go by without letting each and every one of know just how proud I am of what you've done over the last six years, and especially over these last several months.

You've all worked hard to succeed, both on the field and off with a clear vision for this organization. You're GIANTS and will help to cultivate the next generation of Giants for the Boston Crusaders. You're leaving a legacy that will be remembered for years to come.

Thanks! 20 is an incredible achievement.

Stay patient brother. BAC will win one. Think it took Crown four years to win after placing top three, and I think six years for Bloo. Let's go in the middle, by 2027 BAC will be champions, possibly sooner.

Of course us BD honks want another title, but BAC has BD Nation behind them.

It's awesome that two of the classiest fan bases on DCP, BAC and Bloo both took home silver medals. Freaking awesome!

    When it happens..

Please please please let it NOT just be a tie 🙂

Not "IF" but "WHEN with BAC winning a title.

    It's going to happen.

And I will be the first to congratulate them when it happens.

Sooner than later. Championship clock is ticking.

Congratulations to BD btw!  I bet that 20th title felt great.

    I really love BD's SWAG...

Now only if BAC can just pluck them off the score board...Hope I don't have to wait too much longer for it to happen...Please be sooner rather then later!

  9. Since I got yelled at last season for not starting this thread soon enough.  While the results of 2022 are  still fresh I am beginning a new thread!

    Crusader Traditions

    "Conquest"

The Boston Crusaders first performed Alfred Newman's "Conquest" from the 1947 swashbuckling motion picture, Captain from Castile, in 1969 and repeated it in 1970. The corps brought the tune back in 1973 and 1974, then performed it as a part of their show every year from 1976 through 1990. Since then, "Conquest" had become a signature piece for the Crusaders.

    Waldo

The Boston Crusader's symbol is King Richard's split-tailed lion. Affectionately known as "Waldo", the lion can be seen on all of the corps' vehicles, on the corps members' jackets, on corps merchandise, and as tattoos on many members and alumni of the Crusaders.

    "Giant"

The Crusaders' corps song "Giant" is based on the main theme from the 1956 movie, Giant.

  10. I've been doing a little bit of celebrating over here...

I didn't get a chance to congratulate ALL of the corps tonight including those that performed in prelims and open class as well.

You made my summer a real blast!

I love you all from the bottom of my heart!!!
