  1. I agree...they made some really good choices/changes from last year..its a completely different corps out there...Go bones!
  2. They should be arriving soon via Pony Express...
  3. Did they change from baritone to mello? Unfortunately this is my same impression.
  4. Thanks for taking the time to give live reports...and that's awesome to hear you were entertained...
  5. Seriously? Does it really matter who is the innovator? Besides there really isn't much "new" content these days anyway that I haven't seen in one form or another over the last 25 years both in and out of this activity...
  6. Thanks BRASSO for wanting to hear my opinion on the corps, but I've learned to keep my mouth shut on certain things and be a little more generic in my responses. I'll just keep my comments as I stated them previously for now. Seems anytime I've responded in the positive towards any corps (from a show I attended) other people from other corps like jump down my throat and report inaccuracies even if they were not even there. I really don't want to stress about it tonight...LOL
  7. I never liked these type of fields...especially marching over the top of a pitchers mound backwards...lol
  8. There is no doubt that the Scouts are for real this year. I really enjoyed their show. Reminded me of the early 90's. They did finish about where I figured they would be to Crown, but they have a good chance of closing in on some of the heavy hitters at the top in the coming weeks IMO.
  9. I agree. IMO I think the middle of the show is holding them back a bit as it just sits there in my opinion for too long. Although I thought they were further ahead last season at this point both musically and visually (more experienced perhaps?)I must say that their brass and ensemble sounds are more refined than the last few years past in a real good way. I like the direction they are headed even though the show my fall short this year, but it still is to early to tell.
  10. look down? really? I have a freaking blast going to dca and dci shows!
  11. I don't mind smaller judging panels (although I've never been overly happy with it either)...so long as there is CONSISTENCY throughout the system. I have no idea the reason why the difference other than economics. I do think though the more judges you can get the greater the benefit will be to the corps that get them. As far as it affecting current scores I could really care less about that aspect. I care more about the corps getting more of a read on their shows from the greatest amount of differing opinions.
  12. I will point out then what ghost is referring....Not to belabor this point...but before you jump down Ghost's throat you need to look at the "field brass" scores from Arlington... Field brass was judged at Arlington and not judged at old bridge...this is WHY he said 1.1 spread... field brass score Arlington Anyway...I really like Madison's show this year and I agree with you that their show is really good. From the box I feel they are where they deserve to be and I was at the old bridge show.
  13. The field judge was judging percussion tonight. The brass was judged from the box tonight whereas it was judged from the field last night where it actually makes a REAL difference. IMO...mine only...I feel BAC has a stronger horn book than Madison...and I think they are achieving it better....but that's just me...
  14. Ron Gunn is the man! I highly recommend that guy. He was able to get me prime 50 yard seats for DCA Championships 2 years ago right on the day of finals! I'm sure he can get you something for DCI finals. Go check him out in the marketplace forum.
  15. Thanks for that. To be honest in all these years looking at recaps I never noticed the "Download the All-Age Recap," link and that sad...lol In addition...it was nice to see BAC 1st in brass since their was a field brass judge. :)
  16. I agree. I feel that if this were the NCAA the playing rules would be the same across the board. Doesn't seem to me that the playing rules are the same here for all the corps. Even if we were talking about World versus Open class the playing rules should be the same in that regard also imo.
  17. Personally I rather have them not start off strong, so they don't peak early. Many years I've seen this happen to them. Of course this assumes that the show has a lot of room to grow....I can't comment on that right now because I have not seen them yet and it has only been one show.
  18. RED PLUMES for BOSTON...I thought I was looking at Colts at first....I did not see that coming...lol Thanks for the photos!
  19. That's too bad...but perhaps the weather had a lot to do with it?
  20. but you know it's done EVERY FREAKING YEAR....lol....I've given up yelling about it...
  21. This seems like a silly topic. Not the fact that you can possibly get cancer, but more to the idea that you want the "DCI police" to control the poor choices made by a young adult who needs to get egg on his face. I for one marched with my shirt on in practice and in the blistering heat! I recall not being part of the norm, but I did not care. I knew that I burned real easy and appropriately took the actions to protect myself. This choice had nothing to do with how my parents raised me either.
  22. I will agree that it was a deserved win for SCV who brought to the field a little extra emotion for that performance. I was there and SCV had to re-setup on the field due to the weather issues where we had to clear the stands a few times to the under-hang area. We were all just happy (as an audience) that the show was starting again as I recall. Well at least I was happy.
  23. I was thinking about 2005...so I looked it up and your right...my bad.
