  1. Best performance of the year BAC! Absolutely the best!!! I am so proud of you!!!!! You certainly did mot leave anything to chance with that.
  2. That was a phenominal performance Stars! I was jumping up and down like a giddy school girl for you after that. Folks in my theater must think I am nuts.. The looks I got...priceless... Haha
  3. Phantom that was fantastic! Don't care if I looked silly giving you a standing O at my theater.
  4. On my way to the theater now... Take no prisoners tonight BAC!
  5. It never stopped JJ Pipitone from judging. Just saying.
  6. Well while we wait for the show tonight...Here is some more Allentown lore... Sometimes it takes a clear vision! In the beginnings of this show, around 1978, the then marketing and promotions director of DCI, unleashed a series of appearances which included downtown concerts in the months prior to this show. These appearances featured the Blue Devils, Phantom Regiment, The Cadets, Santa Clara Vanguard, and others. These local events drew a remarkable 3,000 to 4,000 spectators and were VERY popular. Other corps appeared and were scheduled for shopping centers, nursing homes, city hall, and fireworks, etc. Drum majors were even flown in months ahead to announce the upcoming shows to the local media. It was a HUGE deal...and most of the other things that have occurred over the years like tailgating parties etc. all pretty much happened organically...
  7. I believe that was in 90 or 91...but those days the field was still GRASS...
  8. Announced at end each night... I remember a time though when they had prelims where scores were announced in-between shows as well...
  9. A little Allentown lore... The first DCI East Championship in Allentown was held on July 8th and 9th of 1977. It had been held before in Lowell, Massachusetts, but due a scheduling conflict in 77', the event was moved to Allentown. The rest is history! That year of the first two day event included 28 corps in competition. Of those corps, only five still exist today; Boston Crusaders, Garfield (The Cadets), Phantom Regiment, Madison Scouts, and the Crossmen.
  10. Same slate of judges both days. The two day show is considered to be a single event.
  11. Absolutely agree. They have NOT beaten BD yet or even ever...
  12. OK I know I posted this....but what the heck happened to those pants! ...the one that is in the front 3rd in from the left...
  13. Time to Say Goodbye - BAC 2000 ...and so many of the others already mentioned in this thread
  14. Exactly. A direct comparison... I will add the only corps in existence today that Boston has never beaten ever is BD. If that happens, that sure would be something.
