I was just thinking of BAC's remarkable season early today and then I saw that great news. Congratulations on your highest score EVA.

An uneducated fangirl's final predictions
Liahona replied to Orwellian Wiress's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Ok I will go for it... 1. Boston - I just have to put them here... Rooting for my team. They can do this! 2. Blue Devils - They will not be any lower. Full stop. 3. Crown - They broke 90 in SA. Scoring history over the years says that corps who break 90 at SA go on to medal. 4. Bluecoats - Strong across the board. Don't see any weakness. 5. SCV - Drums should keep them here. 6. Cadets - Show design a cut above the rest. 7. Blue Stars - A marvelous production indeed. A great place to be for them. Brass is great IMO. 8. Cavies - Time is running out which just hasn't been on their side this season for reasons beyond their control. 9. Phantom Regiment - They've made great strides cleaning this show up. Their also known to surge at the end. 10. Mandarins - The guard is so just good. 11. Colts - I hope to see them back on finals night. 12. Crossmen - A finals worthy show IMO, but still on the bubble. 13. BK - Can they squeak in like B A C did in 2016? -
LAST TIME BLUE KNIGHTS DID NOT MAKE FINALS?

Just a a little bit disparaging to turn this into an entire topic, you think?- 12 replies

Thanks for making your first post about BAC. I'm not too sure about a clean sweep in captions, but that is not really necessarily needed IMO. Boston has dealt with so much adversity...This quote sums it up perfectly... “The corps has persevered due to a combination of the ‘Crusader attitude,’ the will to disappoint others who would cheer the corps’ demise, and many people who, like myself, took no pay, but taught the corps out of Crusader pride”, said Jim Centorino brass arranger/instructor from 1972-1975. (Kellerman 191) Centorino continued, “It is easy to be part of a huge, respected, financially sound group when things are going well, but it takes a special kind of dedication to take on the responsibility of extinction, the Crusaders of today owe a great deal of their success to the fact that there still is a Boston Crusaders at all, having gone through at least a decade of misfortunes so harsh that when it seemed that the corps could sink no lower, there was a new crisis to overcome. In retrospect, those crises have become stepping stones to the corps’ successes and, if one digs just a few inches below the topsoil, those stepping stones are weather-beaten and worn, but like the monoliths at Stonehenge, still there.” (Kellerman 191)

There are so many wonderful posts in this thread today. I can't overstate how heartwarming they've all been to read especially from @craiga@Tim K@LabMaster@Terri Schehr@KVG_DC @SuperSaderFan and others that I haven't specifically mentioned. I have a very special message for any BAC corps member that happens to read this post in your off-time (if there is such a thing). In less then two weeks, the final performance you all want is already inside every single one of you. You’ve already proven you are GIANTS (as have every other member, staff, and volunteer of this organization since 1940). You are already all winners in my eyes from the very first day you picked up a drum stick, a mallet, a horn, a flag, a saber, a rifle et al. Your are here now in this unique position by shattering various records set by other GIANTS that came before you. The practice of your craft is on FULL display for ALL to see. You can all march, play, spin, toss very, very well. I’ve seen it over and over and over this season. The key to winning it all is to just get out of your own way. You are the only one putting limits on yourself. Everyone else thinks you are amazing, so why not you? Maybe you already believe in yourself, so this advice is for those that may have still a few small doubts. The time is now to be more kind to yourself and become your own cheerleader in the last couple of weeks before the last dance. The entire BAC alumni, staff, friends, and I will be right there with you cheering you on all the way to the top! I love all of you from the bottom of my heart!
