  1. You would think that with the patriotic nature of their program they would steer clear of such an egregious attack of the the bills of rights that our founders established. Whatever happened to life, liberty and the pursuit of a pure brass sound.
  2. Think globally.... Drum Locally. I am totally willing to tolerate smaller corps with a drop in quality.
  3. I've heard that Crossman are using 3 full time synth players this year. Sweet. How far off can the first lifelike realization of a Michael Jackson tribute be? Finally drum corps will be interesting.
  4. Always been a fan of the knees behind the head technique.

  6. When have the Renegades been competitive? I kid!!!!
  7. What is with DCP and hypothetical time travel questions as of late? It this community becoming more sci-fi obsessed than it was before. I'm not sure our bando image can endure this increase in prepubescent thought any longer. I make a motion to ban hypothetical time travel threads.
  8. 76 Schinetady Falls Cluster-Bucks. I would love to be the sop soloist that had the cute little moment with the guard girl. The guard girl would be Princess Leah. And we could talk about all of our fun band time. Gee willikers what a time it would be.
  9. the centaur rears his head....... only if bones would make a appearance now.......
  10. Someone had it right a couple of pages ago. We could have closed the thread then. The difference is Boof. He is a mythical drum writing creature. I've heard rumors that he might be bones as well. Can anybody confirm. That and they have a near god like half man half horse named Chris Feist. No one else in DCA has Bones and a demigod on staff.
  11. I really hope this has never happened.... Talk about a lack of priorities. There are enough "tradagies" of the activity as it is.
  12. I have always had a problem with speaking the letter L. My sincerest appoligies to all those sitting around me for the last 20 years. All my love! Seven Words!!
  13. SO I need some clarification... Is it a rumor if it has not been posted on a core's website but peopls are still tlking about it!
  14. Use the force wisely George Hopkins...... Use the force wisely....
  15. Bingo. We have a winner. That piece is extremmmmmmmmely hard. I believe Greg Tsilikis (sp) was the timpani player in 04 at Bluecoats. And many years before that. He is a killer player. I raise a toast to Greg
  16. I like the accel. in BD 2000, however i don't know that i would go as far as saying it is one of the best front ensemble features. I think it is one of the most prominent in recent history. The placement and purpose of the fetaure was spot on, however it is not that groundbreaking or technically demanding. Single lines like that accel. are easy to teach and clean. BD's front ensemble has played much more challenging music than the one feature the the whole drum corps world knows. The material in the begining of their 07 show was infinetly harder from a musical and technical standpoint. I have to agree with the opening material from Phantom 07. The source material is great. Chirstopher Deane's "Verspertine Formations" is an amazing piece. I don't think it has been recorded yet. But check it out if it is being performed at a local university. They also bring it back at later parts of the show with great success. There is a break in the Cavaliers 02 show around the 4:40 mark that I enjoy. Not technically demanding. It is musically simplistic with great results. The Cavaliers front ensemble from 2000-2006 had an incredible amount of projection. They added alot of contrary motion even when not featured. The year the Blue Knights did the Piano Concerto and featured the front ensemble as the piano soloists contains some cool ideas. The front ensemble writing during Cadets 05 Ballad is quite good.
  17. In the spirit of this thread......... A phrase or word for every DCA corps. ALLIANCE- It usually takes more than one person to be an alliance BRIGADIERS- You'll pay me to do what? BUCCANEERS- Bunch of hicks with horns. BUSHWACKERS- That was so early 90's CABALLEROS- North Jersey machesmo is only good for spousal abuse CAROLINA GOLD- Do they give gold medals for not making finals? CHOPS, INC.- Get Some CINCINNATI TRADITION- The worst thing in Cincinnati, including the bengals. CORPSVETS- Christmas in July? CRUSADERS- At least they don;t have a long ride home after finals to commiserate. DERBY CITY KNIGHTS - Who said you can't beat a dead horse. EMPIRE STATESMEN- Empire can @#%$ me FRONTIER- Going where no drum corps has gone before. A distant place lower that last.... the final frontier FUSION CORE- Lets get one musical genre right before we fuse them GOVENAIRES- It's cold up there. It's not their fault GRENADIERS- Poor Canada HURRICANES- barely a golden shower. KILTIES- They where those kilts because a sheep can hear a zipper being undone from 2 miles away. LAKESHOREMEN- It would make sense if they were under water MINNESOTA BRASS- Wow the Blue Devils really sound bad this year. MUSIC CITY LEGEND- The Legend of Last RENEGADES- Lee Rudnicki- enough said WHITE SABERS- I really wish they would let people of color into the drum corps. Before I get blasted..... The above was meant as a joke. If you feel bad about what I said.... Well... then maybe there is some truth to it.
  18. Jarrett started in 2005! Hopefully this new guy does not inherit the curse of Jarrett. Ever since he showed up the season has ended a day early Kidding of course... Jarrett is the best thing to happen to the corps since the Austin Powers movies came out.
  19. I've been thinking about making sweatshirts that say "iTick" Kind of like the shirts YEA is making. But for reals... I like # 3
  20. When you have created something in which you have an emotinal investment in... revisit your over "dramatic", "me" centered respons response. It is his work, he should have have final say on what is done with it. I care about Loris Tjeknavorian's intellectual property, just like I would care about chaos001's intelectual property. Maybe you are composing at that level... I shoud'nt make the assumption that you are not. Maybe chaos001 is a code name for Waney Downey. It's funny that you never see them in the same spot.......
