Rumors on this board that Saucedo not returning ( just brought in for Anniversary season) and now Tye as well. Cavaliers then needing an arranger and brass caption manager.

A question for anyone in the know. how long is Santa Clara’s staff on hold for? I thought I heard that they were paid for 2023. Do they become freelance? The decision has to be soon regarding 2024. auditions start in two months. And if so, does a certain brass arranger and certain brass caption manager go to a certain corps that just so happens to be rumored of needing both. Hmmm…..I could think of worse things lol.

Was asking because Keith is still on Cavaliers Website as well as listed in his social media. So question is regards to where did fighterkit get their intel other then just posting it on DCP?

Haven’t seen/heard anything re: Keith. source? I believe Andy was just used as a consultant. So would think if rumor is true then yes Andy gone as well.

Have to agree with BK. Bad Optics.You cannot post a judging panel and suggest dci as racist. PLA is more than welcome to post but has to suffer the repercussions from the organization that has been employed.

Finally got around to watching finals night…been busy since coming home from Indy. my lord were they amazing!!!! Or should I say they are amazing. IMHO, most improved of the season. This show definitely peaked at Finals. lucky enough to be in Lucas Oil for this performance. Percussion well deserved Sanford, and how about that guard! Let’s give them a show design in ‘24 that competes.

His arrangements were perfect for this style of show. Very 2000’s. Not sure they would be what would take the corps to the next level. Good to hear, thanks for the info.

Brass needs more than one season with the new staff, especially considering the amount of rookies. Music Analysis scores were actually good it’s the on field brass that needs help

Drums drums drums!!!!!!!! Congrats. great score from guard tonight…saved their best for last. 6th!!! Impressive considering where they were last year and the quality of guards this year. great foundation for next year. Now let’s get them a show design that can compete.

I think the confusion lies within your statement, “staff that knows how to design winning shows.” Most fans, I say most…not all, do not understand why the Blue Devils design is the absolute. In terms of GE it consistently is the top, but why? take away GE scores and BD does not have the wins. I believe that’s where the frustration lies. Why do the judges believe this show is #1 while the audience, again not everyone, does not. Maybe the term GE needs to be changed???

Sounds easy, but who’s going to leave their current position and come to Madison that’s going to be an upgrade? Money talks.

They can squeeze as much as they want, and while I love the Cavaliers, there was definitely some missed opportunities from a design perspective. These men have definitely worked hard and have made the best out of an “okay” show design. Unfortunately the GE will hold back other captions as well. Besides the 1st from drums I did see a few 6 and 7 placements in sub captions that’s a positive.

Members are outstanding and their achievement incredible. There is no doubting this. I don’t mean this to take away from them. The Show design is starting to get a little stale. The intro narration for example every show!!! This show feels like a regurgitated Club Voltaire. They’re even using the same music/musical passages every few years. Let’s have jackets on then take jackets off. Let’s have loud drum kit features. let’s have members stand in an arrow formation and dance. Let’s have a random dance break. The show tonight was incredible but the design that used to be original is now overplayed. Kind of like when u have a favorite song but hear it on the radio a million times then it becomes your not so favorite song.

Day two and have seen all corps thanks. They were overly amplified and ridiculously loud. Btw… I’m on the 48 yard line 15 rows up.

Not performance….AMPLIFICATION!!!! Like deafening on the 48 yard line.

Hopefully I can hear the rest of the shows….just sayin
