  1. Soooooo.....Pacific Crest. They seem further along then last year at this time. BUT, I much preferred last years drill and show design. Interesting to see as the season progresses.
  2. People, its only 5:45, here in Arizona. Show starts in 2 hours. Leaving for the stadium in 15 minutes....
  3. And Phantom 2013 has a sash that looks similar to Cavies circa 1995. Point being?
  4. Blue Devils Crown SCV Cadets Cavies Phantom Bluecoats Boston Madison Blue Stars Spirit Blue Knights
  5. Are they for sure holding on to the scores till Monday night?
  6. The corps has the uniform on under the robe
  7. At an event in arizona. Just got carded for alcohol. Security gave me a stamp and wristband. When he put it on me he said "just act like your in a secret society." Weird, gave me chills. If he only knew.
  8. Cavies Mad World....all new staff, started the season in the 5th/6th spot. Remember watching the show in June and thinking WTF! I believe it was right around San Antonio that they started to make their push then never looked back.
  9. Not referring to talent or performance at all, promise. All three shows have sections I love and hate. BD opener and drum break are amazing, visually and musically. As of right this moment its my favorite design wise of the 3. Crown, loved the ballad musically, hated the narration. Show doesn't seem "crown" to me. It seems a blend of cadets/bd. I think drastic changes need to be made for it to be the fan favorite. Cadets, I've always liked the music. Show Definitly needs some work to convey the theme. Strong all around captions. I think these three shows are very artistic and abstract in nature. While different, they're kind of similar. I don't think this will be your top 3 this year. Design wise, I think phantom or SCV could break in there. Ive yet to see cavies, but who knows right? I do think it should be an exciting season. I want it to start already!
  10. I've now seen Crown on YouTube, Cadets streamed and Blue Devils live.....wanna know my first impressions? Lol
  11. Funny, that's the first thing that popped into my mind as well.
  12. First look, I like "that's pretty bad a**". At second look, I was like "what the he** is going on with the right side of the uniform and the fringe hanging off the sash. I still like it though, but have to agree it does look a little cluttered. Also concerened how the uniform will frame the different body types as well as phantom as a whole on the field.
  13. New bass drum heads, just posted on Cavies Facebook page. I would post but haven't the slightest how. If someone would be so kind, thanks.

  15. Not quite sure how this is an accurate statement. If you compare the year 2003 to the year 2012, yes its accurate. But as a 10 year span it is not. From 2003-2012 the Cavies average score is a 96.4. From 1993-2002 the Cavies average score is a 96.3. The Cavies had a slightly better recent decade. From 2003-2012 BD average score is 97.96. From 1993-2002 BD average score is 97.39. BD had a better recent decade. From 2003-2012 Cadets average score is 96.24. From 1993-2002 Cadets average score is 97.36. So yes the Cadets scores were higher 10-20 years ago. Of course Crown will have the biggest advantage in the area of improvement average because they weren't a division one corps till 1994. They go from a 83.4 to 93.59 in a 19 year time frame. Plus its important to point out that in a 20 year time frame the combination of Blue Devils, Cadets and Cavaliers have 20 world championships. Phantom is the only corps to win an outright title during that time and of course SCV tied with BD in 1999 and Phantom with BD in 1996.
  16. I agree. I'm gonna take a wild guess that this might be the "ballad section" of the show. It looks like Badalamenti has been scrapped for the Shanefield original. Have to think Rose of Arimathea to be preshow, Air to be movement 1/opener, drum music movement 2/drum feature, secret to be movement 3/ballad and enterprising movement 4/closer. This show should be dark, powerful and masculine. So excited!
  17. Cavaliers 2013 Rep: Rose of Arimathea/ Hans Zimmer Air/ Hans Zimmer Drum Music (movement 3 Incinerate)/ John Mackey Secret Society/ original music by Drew Shanfield Enterprising Young Men/ Michael Giacchino
  18. Rose of Arimathea/ Hans Zimmer Air/ Hans Zimmer Drum Music (movement III-Incinerate)/ John Mackey Secret Society/ original music by Drew Shanefield Enterprising Young Men- Michael Giacchino
  19. Cavies just posted on Facebook. Percussion moving in this weekend, full corps on the 17th.
  20. Sorry not buying Volume III. Other then an interesting choice of guard costume, Spin Cycle was every bit of a championship caliber show as Cavies three previous years...Red Violin not so much (sorry Phantom). And So It Goes... a better fit for the volume, imo.
