  1. Also the guard team has some great ties as well. Boston, Crown and Pride of Cincinnati. Doesn’t get much better then that. Hopefully helps with recruiting and bring the overall caption into the now. Unfortunately while the guard has always been entertaining their technique and design hasn’t been rewarded by the judges for quite some time.
  2. I think questionable design choices had a lot to do with the placement as well. Hopefully this new team will be ready for the challenge.
  3. What about the questions with brass?? Really the only caption I’m not concerned with is percussion. For 2023 I’ll just be happy if the Cavaliers make Finals.
  4. I didn’t mean bring down the corps literally lol.
  5. Reading this makes me laugh because I can picture it in my head. There was a time when the Cavaliers were the best in the biz at playing backfield. I’m hoping for some amazing and LOUD arrangements from Saucedo in 2023.
  6. That was definitely the issue. The visual and musical design was fantastic. I still regard it as the best show not to win the Championship.
  7. My point being that a few posters on DCP do not represent an entire fan base, though we like to think we do.
  8. I do remember sitting in the stands during the championship years loving the design and music but also realizing the brass didn’t have that explosive power/volume of others in the top six. While the technique was of the best, the ooomph was not lol.
  9. 2003 should’ve won. It was a masterpiece.
  10. And I absolutely loved his arrangements/originals so does that make them more exciting? Point being…everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Doesn’t make one right or wrong. The Blue Devils must of thought him exciting enough. The used him as music ensemble coordinator this year.
  11. I don’t remember that being the case. Not really sure how 5 gold medals, 2 silver and 2 bronze could be boring. I DO remember the complaint was more to the brass technique/ approach and how it wasn’t Loud or exciting.
  12. Excited for Saucedo as well. Always nice to have a HOF on your design team. Does anyone have insight on David Starnes other then his bio???
  13. For the 50000000000000th time. Every time the Cavaliers have an announcement to make does not mean they are going Co Ed. It’s getting ridiculous how many times this has to be stated.
  14. I believe Concerto No. 10 was a mash up with the Floor is Lava leading up/including the hit during the ballad. Starting right after the soloist section.I could be wrong but that’s how it sounded to me.
  15. The real question is at this point is where do they go??? The brass teams at the top seem to be set, so no openings there. If they’re a package deal (Martin/LeBeouf/Dickey) we need to see some openings to accommodate the three of them. Possibly SOA?? Martin is arranger and has the ties. Time will only tell.
  16. Imho…Weber and Saucedo would be a dream team for the Cavaliers. The corps would also need the right artistic direction to help incorporate modern staging.
  17. I think “tremendously” may be an over exaggeration. I would say more like adequately.
  18. I don’t think you understood my question. hence my quotations around “resigned”. There is a difference between “resigned” in public forums v. “Let go” behind closed doors. So again I ask…how do you if each “resigned” v. “Let Go”?
  19. Thanks! Lol. Did it in a hurry. I loved Propaganda BTW.
