  1. Things must have been really f-up at Southwind to just throw in the towel with not even a sliver of hope to come back. Why not help a Gulf Coast corp like Heatwave if you’re going to get rid of your ####! At least they are still trying.
  2. If there is an award for Drum Major, the ginger kid from Spirit should win it. So fun to watch and excellent conducting.
  3. Wish the gulf coast was more represented. Texas not included.
  4. One ticket each night $300
  5. I’ve got one for Thursday friday and sat sec 141 row 9 seat 2. Can’t come. They are in my phone so I don’t know how to transfer them if anyone can help.
  6. Very Academie like and I mean that as a huge compliment!
  7. Glad the south is represented. And I don’t mean Texas. Good luck Southwind.
  8. Plenty of time to perfect it. Didn’t really have to work their way up. Could be a little jagged for those who have been earning it touring. Yeah I know…what a tool.
  9. Your enthusiasm for the larger corps is apparent and they probably deserved it. Still think there should be a separation from the larger open class.
  10. Be surprised if this show goes on. If not, sorry for Columbians. They are probably chomping at the bits to perform. Feel like they would debut close to where Southwind is now and eventually take that spot.
  11. Columbians debut and join the tour at end of the week for 4 shows before World Championships I believe. Looks to have a sizable corps on par with Spartans.
  12. Nice video of Southwind on YouTube. Entertaining show concept in my opinion. Small but mighty!
  13. Quite small. Haven’t done as well in the recruiting areas as some open class it seems. At least they are still around.
  14. I think that PC, BK, Madison and Crossmen will start to separate themselves from SOA now. The others seem to have more difficulty. In saying that I’ve seen none live. Just in videos. One thing for sure, SOA has one heck of a drum major. I’m sure the others are just as good, but this kid stands out.
  15. After watching SOA at CrownBeat last night I learned a few things. First I didn’t realize that Spirit had not competed since 2019 including the “celebration” performance that was not judged. Next I learned that the corps is currently has 130 rookies in its roster. SOA isn’t talked about much on this forum these days. There were plenty of opinions when the dark cloud covered them. Now that they are back performing I hope they are given a chance. The crowd last night in South Carolina certainly did. In my opinion they were pretty good with a lot to build off of. One thing for sure is they came back. I’m sure it was an emotional moment for the current members and alumni.
  16. Great to see them. I wish the gulf coast was more receptive in recruiting. Heat Wave , Southwind , and LS have not faired as well as the rest of open class.
  17. Well SOA is the red headed stepchild.
