  1. Copyrights to different songs are held by different people, in many cases. Different songs have various songwriters, producers, etc.
  2. Yeah...this kid is still of marching age. With 2 years left. And he has seemingly appointed himself as corps director of a non-existant drum corps with no drum corps experience to draw from. This is currently DESTINED for failure at the rate its going. And I don't say that to be a jerk...but come on kid. Sounds like he needs to take a step back and look at the big picture. Running a drum corps is a 24/7 job
  3. They don't really serve any magical purpose. They are basically just a tool to help you buzz more efficiently. Buzzing is great for a number of things! For me it helps immensely with ear training, forcing me to play the notes without relying on the slotting of the horn to help me out. Being able to finger along while buzzing is a nice benefit
  4. Never marched a season in which someone didn't have a stress fracture
  5. Actually, for the past two years DCI has put a dynamic mic about a foot away from each corps speaker, thus capturing the sound from the speakers pretty much independently from the rest of the corps. Sennhesier Md 421's to be exact.
  6. Audio engineer here... They will not be able to edit out JUST the voice without taking out all of the corresponding frequencies in the rest of the recording . They have stereo mics capturing the entire show, they hear everything. They could certainly dampen the sound of the voice, but not remove it completely without wrecking the rest of the recording.
  7. There is a 2 bar quote of "Appalachian Spring" in Vanguards 98 ballad. I probably listened to it 100 times before noticing. I love that moment
  8. That'd be wonderful for them, but "the entire corps" never comes back the next year, in these times
  9. The helmets were not a good look - but I would enjoy something closer to their original look
