Meet the 2012 Reading Buccaneers Brass Staff!
Defender77 replied to TomMoore's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
Wow! What a line-up! And this is just the brass staff! -
What he said, Part II!

Since my daughter marched 06 through 09 and my wife marched 07 and 09 it's hard to select, but if I had to narrow it down I would pick Blue Era, because "the Promise of Living" was so emotional and "Rhapsody" was so powerful. However, that 2009 corps WAS one of the best ever.
-
My point was, they would have and should have been seeded first. I don't think you should seed anyone based on one show, but on the entire body of work throughout the season. At this point it doesn't really matter, but possibly for the future.
-
Food for thought. In 2008, 09 and 10, the Buccaneers scored a 95 or better in their last show before championship weekend. In 06 and 07 they scored better than a 94.1.

Then you'll never take 180, because that project is dead. No funding. Way too expensive. -

There is some construction in the Williamsport area at the Rt 180, 220, 15 spur, but traffic moves well through the construction zone (about a mile long). -

Rt 15 from Williamsport PA to New York border is four lane limited access with no construction. Rt 15 from border to Presho (about 8 miles) is two-lane, then goes back to four. -

Atlanta Review
Defender77 replied to BOSMarcher's topic in DCA All-Age Corps and Alumni Corps Show & Event Reviews
Thanks for the review. Glad to hear that people in other parts of the country are appreciating DCA too. -
I like the fact that Brass scored closer to the Bucs, makes the rest of the season more interesting.
-
Fran's shirt was so laid-back last night he practically blended-in with the rest of the crowd.

Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium (yup, named in honor of the major league pitcher) is easy to find, it sits adjacent to U.S. 15 just south of Lewisburg, at Bucknell U. By the way Christy Mathewson attended Bucknell in the late 1800's. He was one of the original five Hall of Famers. He was born in Factoryville PA and buried in the Lewisburg Cemetary.

It's a beautiful Saturday in central Pennsylvania, should be a great night for Drum Corps. Thank you to all the men and women who are sweating their butts off today for a great show tonight!
-
"The Fence" has been an institution in the Lewisburg area for decades, with it's deep-fried fish and chips. Not great if you're on a low-fat diet, but de-lish none the less.
-
Yeah Fran. Now all we need is for you to do the announcing and it would be a perfect night.
-
Fantastic stuff! Two older brothers and an uncle marched with the Keystoners in the 60's, but not that early in the decade.

1st - Reading, can they break 90? 2nd- Hurrs, looking forward to seeing their CG, that everybody's talking about. 3rd- Brass, always impressed with anybody who travels a great distance for an 11 minute show. (by the way, they'll be getting a standing ovation from me no matter how good their show is) 4th-Fusion Core, saw them in Wildwood, can't wait to see how far they've improved. 5th-Bush, it's been a tough year, but they're still out and you've gotta give'em kudos for that. Plus, I predict the fans will be greatly entertained with these competing corps, along with the Marine Corps D&B, Scout House and CabsAlumni
-
Back in the 60's this show was sponsored by the Milton Keystoners. Alumni of the corps are recognized each year as well.
-
Actually Lewisburg High's school colors are green and white, it's Bucknell, where the show is being held that are blue and orange.

Drum Corps Grand Prix predicitons

Lewisburg should be interesting. I predict a huge crowd will be entertained by some great Drum Corps.
