I actually loved last years show until maybe mid Aug. Then all the junk came out in Statesmen fashion. When I saw the corps earlier I thought WOW very classy ....and then..... Just afraid with this theme all hell can break lose come Mid August

Cavalcade of Champions - July 17, 2010

.For the life of me i dont get the Empire thing..yes....i guess entertaining ,in a cheezy way but a hot mess..ok with that said sound is always great, I always have loved Empires Hornline sound, I guess the rest of the stuff is their thing. GE does NOT mean junk all over the place . As for Bucs, I feel the same as you, some issues thoutght it would be a lot closer. Theme carried out very well and nice full horn sound. Staging made sense to me and worked well to bring theme to life I Agree also with you about Hurcs drum line.I can agree with Hurcs guard maybe edging out Bucs tonight ( barely ) but felt that in composition Bucs should have been higher than Hurcs. I thought Cabs did have some visual issues and do need to clean ALOT but im sure the Aug. push will do that in the Cabs fashion. As far as Bush, I for sure love the Bush style, different and unique. Dirty , dirty, dirty but im sure will improve in weeks to come, I really like Bush because they think out of the box but I was struggling toward the end for it to hold my interest. Im sure with cleaning and some changes it will come and the production will reach it's full potential by championships. All of course JMO..... -

I think the point of the video has nothing to do with drill or music..a much deeper meaning.....great film -
Any chance Teal makes it past Thursday?
GUARDLING replied to CT-Horn's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I would be surprised if they did. I think the kids can keep making improvements but I dont think visual staff is strong enough to know what next steps are. -
I think some caption heads also need ( MUST ) surround themselves with other talent to make the vision come off. In this case maybe the caption head position needs to be someone with a broader vision and a great support staff.

There's many reasons why todays Drum Corps is less attended, less membership, no community involvement for the most part, less corps, but i dont think it has anything to do with what horns are used, style, designers, show choices, I think it's more a sign of the times. Kids have way more available to them then we may have back then and many more choices, churches, VFWs and Legions, civic groups etc. can't afford OR care to involve themselves in such an activity either. Lots have changed over the past 40 years. KIDS JUST AREN"T THE SAME EITHER.( The good and bad of it ) BUT!!!! if we like it or not hasn't music changed clothes styles changed the family unit as we were told it should be changed technology changed what we read and view at the movies has changed costs for everything has changed Im sure you get my point I can keep going But i think you get it. So the question is " WHY WOULDN'T DRUM CORPS CHANGE "

You are so right. I didn't question that at all. With kids paying what they do and corps reAllly not in communitities much anymore I was just wondering. I think non profits deserve this and more banks should put their excess monies to good use like this congrats to the corps getting this money. -
Congratulations - We did it!

Congratulations to all corps.....thats great ! Just out of curiousity,I kind of wondered how a Drum Corps qualifies as a Charity. Non- profit maybe but a Charity? Drum Corps don't give away a service to the community. Most don't even belong to a community anymore. Also to belong costs a fortune. Don't get me wrong I think it's great but was just wondering how it worked. Maybe someone knowing more than me can answer. -
Chase Community Giving (again)!

All corps at all levels could use the money and its great Chase is doing this, but I kind of wondered how a Drum Corps qualifies as a Charity. Non- profit maybe but a Charity? Drum Corps don't give away a service to the community. Most don't even belong to a community anymore. Also to belong costs a fortune. Don't get me wrong I think it's great but was just wondering how it worked. Maybe someone knowing more than me can answer. -
Theres a thin metal, almost like stainless steel..with a reflection like a mirror..light weight, reflective on both sides and about $125.00 for a 4x8 sheet...i know thats been used....maybe BD is using this

doesnt mean its a bad thing if it was a WGI thing

for sure a winter guard trick........cool on field im sure

FJM and all these uniform companies need to get a bit more creative but more so maybe have more individual unique design. I know its more cost effective to copy a pattern and maybe just change the color or change maybe 1 thing on it but its stating to look all the same. Many, HS bands are all looking like someone else also . Just one persons opinion
