  1. Yes, I know that much. But why not have it on the left side for everyone?
  2. The Cavaliers bringing back their aussies (hats) this year for me has brought up a question I've had for several years. I've asked in a drum corps group on Facebook a couple of years ago, but I don't remember getting an actual answer. So I figured I'd try asking here. I've noticed that for their aussies, the tubas/contrast have the fold and feather on the left side, while the rest of the horn line and drum line would have the fold and feather on the right side. Basically, my question is why the difference in side? Obviously I know the tubas need the fold on the left because of the horn sitting on the left shoulder. But why not have the fold on the left for everyone. With other groups I've seen wear aussies, Madison and Crossmen come to mind, everyone did have the fold and feather on the left. Even when the few years the Crossmen had the fold and plume on the right in the early 90s, the contras wore cabbie hats. So why doesn't everyone in the Cavaliers horn line and drum line have the fold and feather on the left side? Edit: to add that SCV is/was another popular marching music organization that wore aussies, all with the fold and feather on the left
  3. I've personally been off the DCP website for several years, even before the pandemic. I guess I slowly kept not checking it so often lol but I remember having fun with this fantasy league. Whatever happened?
  4. Ok, thanks. My corps have been receiving scores for the rest of the shows so far that I've entered them in. I was just curious about Clovis because it was still an option when I did do the schedule selections. Side note: looks like my staffs and I will have to do some changes to our shows to get the corps up in the rankings...
  5. Question: I had entered all three of my corps (Feenicks, INT, and ERMISSION) into the Clovis, CA show on the 23rd. Yet I did not see any scores posted for any of them on the site. Any answers as to why?
  6. As the director/president/CEO, I am please to annouce that Feenicks, INT, and ERMISSION have all submitted their tour and caption selections.

  9. BK only passed Boston because Boston got that one point penalty. If it weren't for that penalty, Boston would have won over BK by like almost a point. Stupid penalties.
  10. Yea, I just checked the recap myself. Total suprise!
  11. I didn't see it. I'm guessing Spartans won Best color guard again?

  13. I would guess alittle older, since two current members are DCI age-outs...
  14. Even though non of them made finals, I am VERY happy with each of my corps performances. The World Class Feenicks, Open Class INT, and Class A ERMISSION each had an amazing final performance, which the crowds all loved (as usually :inlove:/> ) and had everyone humming and singing along, as well as when they left the stadium. :whistle:/> :music:/> And the crowd reaction at the end of each of their shows, the kids will remember for a life time. :cheer:/> So for now, there'll be no more :wall:/> from the staff and directors, no more :starwars:/> and :fight:/> from the members (at least till next season), and just remember all of the :babies:/> from finals. p.s.- I say we start a new tradition. The directors of the three winning corps buy all of the other directors a beer. :beer:/> :lol:/> EDIT- Fixed couple of spelling mistakes.

  16. I witnessed this as I was leaving the field after retreat. And even though I didn't notice who came to who (whom?? ), I thought it was a very nice thing to do. And dafepd said, even though we all compete against each other every weekend (which is part of the fun, for me at least), it's also nice to honor each corps, the hard work that each member puts into the season, and more importantly the friendships we develope over the summer. And I congratulate all corps and their members on another successful season.
  17. I can understand why some people would want to make this happen, merging World and Open Class. But personally, I think they should stay seperate. Like someone already said, it'll make a victory more reachable for the Open Class corps. If they merge, sure the very upper level of Open might have a chance in a few years, but that'll leave behind everyone else. So I think Open and World should stay seperate.
  18. Congratulations to Oregon Crusaders on your win! So Oregon wins high brass and GE, and Spartans win best guard. What about the rest of the captions?
  19. Honestly, I don't think anyone from Hurricanes (or any corps for that matter, DCA or DCI) would make the "mistake" of having color guard flags an exact copy of a nations flag. So just let it be. And I agree with the two who have already said it: I think it's about time this thread is closed, I don't see a reason for this to continue.
  20. So every Friday, DCI's website does an article with corps news and annoucements, and just now reading through the one from last Friday, I saw a posting for Cit Sound Drum & Bugle Corps. On their website it says they are from Los Angeles, but DCI has them as being from Long Beach, CA... Checking out their website, though, seems like they're doing pretty well for their first year. They're listed on some of the shows on DCIs schedule, but not listed as going to prelims. Anyone know if its definite that they're not going? Also, does anyone know of any new corps still under evaluation? I know the season has already started, but I don't know how late into a season DCI will approve a corps and still allow that corps to compete in the season...
  21. I'd like to see OC keep their momentum from last year and win finals this year. (And this is coming from someone who use to compete against them... )
  22. I'm hoping for another high finish for this corps again this season. Good luck OC!
