  1. I Have A Quickie: Emanon - Trumbull - Mineola (im biased) - Sac - Highlights of the day for me!
  2. WOW so the general consensus so far is: at least 4 classes! Wondering how many units comprise the total A classes for each of the circuits responding.
  3. Hi everyone... I am a member of the Task Force of a fairly large local colorguard circuit with many A class units in competition. We are considering splitting our A class classes into three divisions from the current two - one of our Task Force's "tasks" is to investigate what other circuits are doing with their A classes. So please let us know what your local competition environment is like... Do you have two A Classes or three? - If two, do you follow the WGI regional A sheets for one and the A sheets for the other? - If three, how is your criteria divided? National A, Intermediate A (non-wgi), Regional A? - What is your promotion protocol? Pre-season vs In-season? What works? what doesnt? Thanks
  4. McGavock did it in the 90's with the big flag trick at the end - worth researching.... St Pats did it - as Scott mentioned I dont remember Interplay doing it - what year? Locally, Mineola White did it in 2009 - but I dont think you would have seen them unless you were in NJA or MAIN circuts. Anthony
  5. We had an awesome turnout yesterday at Sunriser's guard open house - it was a great day and I enjoyed meeting and working with 22 of the best kids from all of my favorite Marching Band and Winter programs on Long Island!!!! If you didnt know, the Sunriser's went inactive after winning DCA class A in 2007.... They moved to Long Island last year and basically had to start over with a new administration, new home, new membership and a new guard caption head (that's me!)... Added to this challenge was promoting and recruiting members into an activity that is completely foriegn to most HS marching band and winterguard programs on Long Island, as there hasn't been a competitive drum corps out here for over 20 years! Myself, and the rest of the Sunriser's guard staff: Lisa Granath, Maria White and Monica Bartoli, busted our butts to get the word out this winter and it was great to see it pay off! Yesterday was our first gathering of the 2009 guard and I'm thrilled to say how exciting it was to see so much talent and enthusiasm ..... I am proud to be a part of the return of competitive drum corps on Long Island after 20+ years. I'm looking forward to a great summer season - BTW we start weekly rehearsals on Friday night May 8th - its not too late to check us out! www.sunrisers.com Anthony DeMarino Guard Caption Head
  6. I got one: How About that Broken Flag recovery during Interplay's fantastic feel-good show? that was an amazing moment - hope it makes the video! Reminds me of the classic "saber with no hilt" moment of Pride's First Circle Show!!! here's to turning lemons into lemonade!!! Adem
