    There is no audition fee so all are welcome to come and check us out. Plans are currently being finalized for the 2011 show.

    This years staff includes:

    Brittany Eldridge - Equipment Design

    We are still seeking instructors for the upcoming season.

  2. The Conquistadors Drum & Bugle Corps from Johnson City, NY is proud to announce that we will be using an alternate uniform in addition to the Stanbury designed competition outfit. The Frank A Johnson American Legion of Johnson City has just become our newest sponsor and has donated 42 military style uniforms to the organization. These uniforms were previously worn by the Red Raiders Senior Drum and Bugle Corps. Little is known about the group besides that they were founded in 1933 and survived through at least the 1940's. There is no written history of the corps in the local archives so it is even more special that we are able to bring awareness to this long lost group.

    Pictures of the uniform will be posted soon. If you have any information regarding the history of the Johnson City Red Raiders, please contact corps director Harry Eldridge at director@conquistadorswinterguard.org

  3. The Conquistadors Colorguard has just released the schedule for the 2010 summer season. To view it, click here. Anyone interested in joining us is welcome as there is no age cap in DCA. Simply fill out an interest form on our website.

    We are also looking for donations. Every dollar helps so if you have a little extra (tough, I know) please consider donating to our trip!

  4. It takes a lot of hard work for our performance ensembles to put a show together. Countless hours of sweat, passion, and of course practice go into each and every show. The hard work doesn't stop on the performance field however. Each of our members must participate in several fundraising activities in order for us to even make it to a performance. The we have to account for equipment, uniforms, insurance, rehearsal locations and so much more.

    By making a donation, you will be helping our talented members to get the most out of their experiences with the Conquistadors. Every dollar is one step closer to our goal. Below is a list of items we need in order to take our colorguard to the DCA World Championships to participate in the Individual and Ensemble competition.

    * Charter Bus

    * Uniforms

    * 2 Sets of Flag Poles

    * Insurance

    * Props

    * Rifles

    *

    Sabers

    As you can imagine, there is a pretty big price tag attached to all of this. Even the smallest donation helps and in turn you will receive recognition as a supporter on our home page. Please take a moment and donate today. Our members will appreciate everything fans like you can do for them!

  5. The Conquistadors Winterguard has been invited to march in a local parade in Owego, NY in July this year. We would like to be able to attend but feel that it would be more entertaining to have our drumline from the corps join us. However, the drum corps has not begun it's recruiting stage yet so we are putting feelers out to see if anyone would like to march with us for a day and give the local community a preview of the Conquistadors Drum & Bugle Corps. Anyone interested can contact corps director Harry Eldridge at director@conquistadorswinterguard.org

  7. For Release - 11/18/09

    The Conquistadors Winterguard is off to a fantastic start in its' inaugural season. Executive Director Harry Eldridge explains: "I am thrilled to announce that we have met and exceeded our membership goals for the season. We had a lot more interest than we had originally planned on and I am happy to report that all interested members have received a spot on the guard."

    Eldridge also went on to explain that the guard is hard at work learning the 2010 show and it looks to be a solid start.

    "I felt that we were behind the 8 ball a little bit when we started. I knew that there would be some disorganization considering it is a new program and I am glad to see that things never went off task. We got a quick start compared to other directors I have talked to. I guess I was a little over-ambitious getting going due to my drum corps background. Guard is still a learning game for me as I was a horn player but the fundamentals of business are the same. I can attribute much of our early success to a strong business plan."

    Those of you in Upstate New York can catch the Conquistadors in the Mid-York Color Guard Circuit at the following shows:

  9. Press Release 6/28/09

    Binghamton, NY

    The Conquistadors Winterguard of Binghamton, NY would like to officially announce intent to compete in the Mid York Colorguard Circuit in 2010. The program was set to perform in 2009 but unforeseen circumstances prevented the group from continuing further and it was decided to wait one more year.

    With that we would like to also announce our show theme for the 2010 season will be Dirty Diana by Michael Jackson.

    **Note from the Director: "In light of the recent tragedy of the death of Michael Jackson I felt it necessary to add that this is not a tribute show. We had decided on our show theme in April and have been finalizing plans before making this announcement. We had a meeting this past weekend to decide if we should choose a different show due to the inevitable flood of Michael Jackson Tribute Shows that will most likely be seen throughout the various circuits this season. We decided to continue as planned."

    The Conquistadors Winterguard is also asking for donations to help us meet our financial goals for the season. If interested, please visit our website: www.ConquistadorsWinterguard.org. All donors will be listed on our site as a token of our appreciation.
