  1. They prefer BD's approach to design and movement. Watching these two - big difference I see is MOVEMENT of the players. Guards both move terrifically, but if you watch the brass or drums BD is way better and more developed - it's not close. Movement people is where BAC needs to invest next - I'm talking dance people.
  2. almost as bad as no wifi signal at spring training...
  3. When is the last time you've been to Dayton? I'm wondering... There's literally a hundred units that are DCI quality between scholastic, independent & percussion. Meanwhile what you describe is like 1970s drum corps.
  4. I hate to break it to you, but today's kids aren't going to march anywhere with dented old horns and crummy pit equipment, most definitely not used uniforms... Most are in indoor or BOA programs with top notch equipment and instructions. Today's audience isn't going to sit through 1970s drum corps, much of it sucked. I was there, I know. It was fantastic at the time, but HS and WGI programs long ago replaced that model. It is out of business.
  5. ehhh, not sure I agree with ANY OF THIS. BD has high demand, perhaps not the highest of every corps in everyway, but it ain't easy
  6. Before my mom passed at 83, she had a very bad knee - I watched so many people push past her, drop doors in her face. It was upsetting to say the least, but VERY educational for me. I am not in Indy - was supposed to be, I had to cancel everything (and eat the tickets as I was unable to resell them) as the breeder for my puppy (waiting a year) called two weeks ago to announce that my puppy Jack was available suddenly as they had a buyer back out. So 10-week-old border terrier means NO Indy for me. Totally worth it - https://www.facebook.com/1218894192/videos/591310095784686/
  7. No - those two shows obviously did NOT "change the whole activity" Eh - not really, when they determined wrong doing and fined the organization, they specifically stated it was NOT found to change any games outcome. All the victories etc. stood. The NFL was politically forced into that much IMO. Now please, let's get back to drum corps - what other shows "changed the entire activity" - lol
  8. I don't think either of these "changed the whole activity" - they were INFLUENCIAL
  9. lol I'm a Ravens fan - I get the fine, but they didn't have any wins expunged, did they? Your reaction is more than somewhat proving my point, btw. Feel free to change my example in your mind to something else, when someone wins "too much" allegations of cheating crop up practically instantly - it's part of being a sore loser. JMO
  10. It used to be about the Cavaliers and before THAT Cadets. And Star of course "was the best corps money can buy" and now it's "Buying a Championship" Over in the NFL it was about Brady and the Patriots - cause just like BD they were cheating somehow, something along the lines of filming others, or inflating their balls differently... It's called petty jealousy - nothing more, nothing less. Part of being a champion is growing some thicker skin - learning to just roll your eyes and walk away, vs. reacting...
  11. Cadets stepped it up !! I thought they had another level in them - and we just saw it!! So proud of them 👍
