  1. Welcome back Sky. Those stratospheric soprano solo's featured in your show were way kick ###. This is a good sign of great things to come.
  2. I know he was and I appreciate that. I couldn't help but to respond with a little joke. That's just my silly humor kicking in. I tend to be in rare form when I am on vacation. Hope nobody takes my dry humor too seriously. PS. I really enjoyed the Barnum show. All of the corps seemed to be in better shape than they were last year in June + it's great to see the Skyliners back. It only gets better from here.
  3. ha ha very funny. Not sure why you are wishing me a happy 60th since I am only in my mid 40's. Just kidding LOL. I understand how my user name can be a tad bit misleading but I guess it's worth mentioning that I have not been involved in drum corps in well over 10 years. I am just a fan now and do the best I can to go to these local shows to show support for the home team.
  4. Why won't anybody answer my question about the chicken crossing the road? LOL
  5. Speaking of old used up jokes....... Why did the chicken cross the road? LOL
  6. Having the Bucs there would have been nice but it was a great show no less. All of the corps performed very well and the crowd enjoyed it. Fusion did a great job of whipping the crowd into a frenzy and got a well deserved standing ovation. I'm pretty sure that this larger than normal crowd will remember the enjoyable experience they had and come back for more next year.
  7. The Hurricanes mentioned in their first open-house thread that their show theme for 2013 is called "Rage Against The Machine". I thought this was worth mentioning. This is the only info that I know about this show since I have not been a current marching member in over 10 years.
  8. I saw lots of facebook folks expressing frustration about the rain situation. Myself included. I have yet to see a single case of someone placing the blame on DCA. We all get frustrated over weather related stuff that no one can control. That's what makes us all human. PS.Who blamed this on DCA Admin anyway? Just currious.
  9. I was only 10 years old at the time but I rember it well. They came to bridgeport and set the house on fire. Those were great times.
  10. Empire Statesmen, Stars and stripes show. mid to early 90's. Giant sized American flag flies over the entire field and gets tossed off into the sidelines. It was an epic moment in which a great drum corps gave tribute to our American flag. What is so bad about that? Now the Hurcs are doing a fun show paying tribute to great British song writers. I don't see what's so bad about that as well. (edit) Time to end this thread already. That's what I'm thinkin.
  11. I want scores. You tell me scores now !!!
  12. Sorry about the Madison hype in my review. That was my small attempt at humor. They were on fire and the people liked them that's all. I am too tired to give a real review. Here are a few simple observations: Spirit of Atlanta - They are starting to look and sound like a possible top 12 corps again. The crowd loved them. Very powerful hornline. Crossmen - Very entertaining music. They are getting that groove machine like vibe about them that they had in the 90's. I dig the visual stuff comming from the field percussion. The brass had some very powerful moments and produced some serious volume. My only issue is the lack of demand in in the drill. This could possibly hurt them in the long run. Boston- I had Spirit over them but I understand why Boston beat them tonight. They came across as having a more polished look, feel and sound about them. Did they get the standing ovations like Spirit or Madison? Not really but they had a very mature sound and I can't take that away from them. My biggest shock of the night was Spirit. I see a possible top 12 run this year. They have a great show. It can do a lot of damage once they polish this bad boy up.
  13. I'm not going to spend too much time taking these early season scores too seriously. I thought it was worth mentioning that last year's Cabs drum line started out the season with a lot of cleanliness issues @ the first Bridgeport show. During the late August Bridgeport show they were completely on fire and achieved a 3rd place finish by finals.
  14. "Added electronics because our 80 man hornlines are not loud enough" LOL
  15. You guys rocked the house in Bridgeport. Hope you come back soon.
  16. Are there any plans for the Scouts to return next summer?
  17. 1980 New York Lancers version of "Don't let me be Misunderstood" I still have hearing damage because of that stratospheric hornelline. They ripped it up with that opener.
