  1. Blue Stars alumni can tell you everything you want to know about Heileman's products - They were the kids from God's Country!
  2. Asalato or Kosh Kash Has anyone ever seen this interesting West African/Portuguese instrument used in drum corps or WGI? Seems like it would be a natural extension to marching cymbals -
  3. Well not as much drama tonight after we now know that Devs are cruising to an undefeated 20th DCI championship - After last nights confrontation between BD and BAC we know that BAC has a great show this year but the cream separates to the top and it's clear BD has the content. The storyline tonight is Blue Stars vs. Cadets - can the Blue Stars narrow the large gap between 6th place island and the 7th place atoll? Do Cavaliers unveil something incredible and barge into the 6th/7th conversation? Vanguard is Zen - so I predict a stable throw down of yoga moves and drum features.
  4. Please help decide an argument - Are BK's rolling dot props Bluecoats old ones from 2019?
  5. it used to be fun to go to shows up in Canada - Will Canada customs relax a bit and start allowing drum corps to cross over and perform a show and then return to the US? I came across this interesting article recently about the point of view of the activity up in Canada - they were saying that they needed to start their own Canada-only circuit and bring Canadian drum corps back - with no intention of participating in the US
  6. @Granny Smith what do you think of Blue Stars being on track for their highest finish since 1977?
  7. When is the last time you saw Ludwig drums being used by a DCI corps? Devs horns are a little rough - The show is going to win - but the hornline is uncharacteristically not as good as a usual Devs hornline.
  8. love the company front hit - every note of Gift to be Simple from Appalachian Spring just in slightly different order - but it's all there!
  9. Funky St. Louis Blues just does not give me a 50's jazz club bebop vibe - neither does Sing Sing Sing -- Only part of the show I wish they would have reconsidered...
  10. probably the best thing to do would be to watch recent shows that are on youtube - no one really publishes a show blurb/synopsis any more... But it's intermission and I haven't done anything all day so here is a quick run down Blue Devils - pretty standard stuff - bright, happy, enjoyable Boston Crusaders - dark and angst-filled Carolina Crown - campy, happy Bluecoats - somewhat dark/sinister - very good levels of performance SCV - dark, mysterious - Cadets - interesting story, happy Blue Stars - interesting but somewhat obscure story - not easy to follow - music somewhat dark Cavaliers - not up to their usual self Phantom - very enjoyable - classic drum corps sound and visual Mandarins - dark, otherworldly Colts - nice show, sophisticated, not overly dark, great drumline Crossmen - nice show - very nice hornline, happy music
  11. I could see some fun crowd interaction with a Clue show - download an app and the audience influences what ending is performed each night --
