  1. Cabs about to go on right now so show not over yet. Hurcs on after them.
  2. Hi Ray, Sorry you felt like you were waiting around for a "LONG" time, however in reviewing the video of our performance, we started at 6:28pm (2 mins early) and the program lasted 15mins 32 seconds. At which time we broke down our equipment as fast as possible while Sky Alumni was already proceeding onto the field. (I remember saying hurry up to our perc section as I was pulling the cart of equipment for them to make sure we were out of there ON TIME!) So in short, we were also under the 17 min performance timeline. Again sorry you felt like you were waiting around to perform.
  3. Thanks...not bad with a lead trumpet, lead mello, and lead bari missing. <grin>
  4. Strange...but did ya like it! LOL! Actually we typically perform in our red shirts so it's a little less strange but there was really no time for the members to change out of the satin while trying to get a rest, drink, and come back and tune with the rest of us before the performance. Brian...how long has it been since you've seen him! LOL! He was tame compared to the Jim Russo look-alike contest a few years back! LOL! Yes he is our conductor going back to around October of 2008. We like to call it "LE is My Lady", lol, glad you enjoyed it. That was one of the first tunes we talked about when we started the group so it's nice to hear that it was one everyone liked back in the day. Thanks for the great comments, we have alot of performances this fall, maybe we'll see you at one! We'll be sure to have more suprises for ya!
  5. Thanks for the review. We really enjoy performing in all kinds of venus and love to get feedback from our audience. Glad you enjoyed the performance as numerous members who had just come off the field with the competing corps to do "double duty" with the Latin Express. We love to suprise the audience, entertain, and of course have FUN! Isn't that what it's all about!?! Again thanks for the review and if anyone else is out there we would love to hear more!
  6. Ok got it from Cabs.org August 15, 2009 The Jersey Shore Invitational Toms River East High School Toms River, NJ 1 Hurricanes 91.263 2 Caballeros 90.163 3 Bushwackers 85.150 4 Carolina Gold 75.888
  7. Well...it's been a real trip playing on those horns. I entered the drum corps arena in 1988 during the 2 valve Bugle era and never thought I'd have to play on one of these horns. Shows you that anything IS possible in drum corps! For a note these GD bugles are single valve. NO rotor. Glad you enjoyed it as we enjoy performing it for all of our many fans.
  8. Thanks Tom! Appreciate the clarification. Seems strange that there are at least 2 corps this year that are going on prior to corps they have not lost to the entire season. So lets say for example that Cabs went to the West Haven show...and won the show with a 94.xxx with Statesmen getting the same score 93.388 and the Reading show (as it was delayed) got rained out. You would have Bucs (undefeated defending champs) going on before both Statesmen and Cabs in Prelims. Maybe someone can think up a better method of seeding that can be suggested so things like that don't happen.
  9. Hi Tom, Thanks for the info. What is the current rule for prelims seedings....highest score in regular season or Avg August score...or Avg last 2 scores? Please give us some insight. In looking at the current seedings you have Bush going on before Brigs even though Brigs has not beaten Bush head to head yet this season. You also have Cabs going on before Empire who again has not beaten Cabs head to head yet this season. Does the head to head meetings factor into the seedings at all? Just curious how it is determined. Thanks.
  10. Actually DCA used to draw for prelims placement but the problem was it made things VERY difficult from a judging point of view. How can you compare say the 2 front runners if one goes on 10 corps after the first? REALLY hard to make a good comparison in your caption by having to remember the other corps from over 2 hours earlier! So the idea here was to have similar level corps appear in relative proximity to each other to give a more accurate scoring of their performance. At present rules I'm not sure if the entire August scoring is averaged or just the last 2 shows...certainly if the full month was used then the ordering would be proper to the outcome of the season. (at least for the east coast corps who have seen each other all year) If the last week or last 2 weeks are used then for example Empire goes on after Cabs although having never beat them this season. I think Brigs might go on after Bush as well with Brigs having never beat Bush this season either. Does anyone know what the current rules are?
  11. My last recollection was the average score for the corps in the month of august. If that is the case...then all would line up correctly in the upper tier Brigs Bush Empire Cabs Bucs If that is not the case then corps who have never beaten other corps this season will be seeded higher. That would not be right.
  12. My brother called and said Reading won everything except Colorguard. Same as last week in Scranton.
  13. Thanks for the review. We really enjoyed playing and the crowd was fantastic.
  14. Does anyone have a full review of the show including all performing groups? There were many alumni and ensemble groups there and we would love to hear a review of them as well. Thanks.
