  1. In my opinion there are 2 corps that impressed at finals. Alliance: they were incredible and a lot of people couldnt believe how a corps could grow so fast and be so good in one year. Their opening statement made many people have their mouth open and they never stop with the energy. I think this group can be a huge thread for the top corps in the next year or 2 Caballeros: I love this group. I like how they bring the latin music and put it in the field. i felt a lot of energy when i heard them. This is now one of my favorite corps!
  2. Im so proud that this was our Open Class South Corps Champion! They deserve it. Also to all those people that were trash about Alliance, well i think now they have to shut their mouths because they acomplish more than a lot of people expected. a 3 points jump from last show to prelims? and a 4 points jump from prelims to Finals? That is CRAZY/AWESOME!!! and next year it will be amazing to see the 3 open class south corps making finals
  3. well like i said this is my opinion and i played and marched many instruments in my life so i know how it feels to march and jazz run with a tuba and i really want to see whatever u r telling about the other groups because i havent seen it yet and maybe im wrong. i dont know i have to wait till i flight to prelims.
  4. I have to disagree with you MrFun. A lot of groups have fast tempos and they are jazz running but i dont think their shows is that demanding. If im not wrong, their entire show is around 180bpm except for the ballad. they are marching most of the time. Im guessing they have around 100 sets or maybe more, and from the shows i have seen, the other corps dont change or move around the field as much as Alliance. In the jazz running part, well i think they jazz run like 3 times and this are real jazz running not 8/5 steps that other corps try to jazz run so it looks cool. Its true that many groups have younger people, but this group is one of the youngest. im guessing most of their hornline are high schoolers and they are already in the same level of some groups that have mostly vets? i think thats impressive. Im not trying to say that Alliance is the best of the best because they have many things to fix and adjust but in my opinions this show is not the usual dca show. Im if u can see them in prelims look at their uniforms after they perform... they look like they just ran a marathon in their uniforms! i dont think i have ever seen a dca group sweat as much as them after a show. After all that said i think every south corps are doing a great job and i think this is the best representation that the DCA south have ever had. I wish every south corps good luck!
  5. i agree with the last statement. Alliance is really different compare with the other dca shows. isnt the dca shows that we are use to see. they jazz run, play a lot, fast tempo. What i lead is that their idea is to bring something different to dca and get young people to start knowing about it too. Im not sure about this but i heard their average age in the corps is 19-20? that is CRAZY! and they have to use their advantage that are young people and a lot of energy. For u Ron i think they might be able to get in a higher position. You have to think that they havent compete against northern corps, they been getting closer to CV every competition and their show have a lot more to improve from CV from my opinion and i bet they clean a lot this past weeks. Alliance is a group that i think have the possibility of shocking many people in the next 2-3 years and who knows maybe start to show how DCA south is growing.
  6. they talk how great are alliance and mcl compare with last year. Alliance is the new group and is surprising how big is the difference compare with last year. Last year Alliance was mainly percussion this year they have a great brass and colorguard. MCL is bigger and louder and is so close to the top 10. They have improve a lot compare with last year too. They don't talk about corpsvets and kilties because they are groups that always been stable in their placements and its not as impressive because we are used to it. Don't get me wrong but the difference between MCL and Alliance with kilties and Corpsvets isnt that far (scoring wise) that is why they give more props to the new or underdogs. Also south Corps have not been in the fight for top 8 this past years and now there is a possibility that they can finally start to compete with the big guys.
  7. i think you are right but im not sure about 7th place. they have a great show but will the audience from the north will be as supportive as the south audience? HurcsGuyGD. why u think they have the potential to make 7th?
  8. i just want to explain why i created this poll. i heard so many good and band thing about south corps from spectators and corps members. i wanted to know who is really the fans favorite corps from the south. Also, wanted people to give some opinions over the corps so maybe designers or staff can look at what the spectators will like to see from the corps. I don't think there is a good or bad opinion. Only speak what you really feel about this corps.
  9. sorry what i was trying to mean was open class because right now they are in a situation where anything can happen.
  10. i will like an opinion about the South Corps. It seems that the 3 of them are having a great year but what people think about them?
