  1. Yeah, next year (assuming I don't go to Annapolis in 2012) I'll have to upgrade my broadband. That will help. I really did not run into major trouble with the buffering until the Caballeros began their show. No, I'm not blaming the Cabs (LOL). I'll be checking YouTube for shows I missed, and I promise not to download any of them!
  2. Wow! That was Anderman at prelims? Great job, Steve! GO BRIGS!!!
  3. Hey, like "iTunes"? Count me in if they do that! Would love to download at least 5 of the performances.
  4. I agree: If you can telecommute and work from home, why not save the gas money and kick back and relax with drum corps? I'm going to have to upgrade my broadband, I guess (sigh!). Of what I did see and hear, it was almost like being there at the stadium.
  5. Perhaps next season, the Fan Network should consider putting out a disclaimer recommending more than just an updated Adobe Flash. Anyone with an ISP above and beyond a "dial-up" connection (like me; I have DSL) could easily assume that the web stream would be flawless. I normally can watch YouTube with no problem. I'm glad that folks with faster broadband enjoyed the show for the most part.
  6. Glad to hear it, Kevin. BTW, congratulations to the Minnesota Brass Inc. for taking 1st in Open Class Prelims! Nothing against the Bucs, they're great, but the streak has got to be broken. Finals tomorrow -- watch out!
  7. To be honest with you, I know this was a new endeavor for DCA, and for $19.95 (less than a dollar per corps performance) it seemed like a real bargain. However, I had to stop viewing after the 16th corps performed for one big reason: BUFFERING EVERY 10 SECONDS!!!!! Now mind you, I have high-speed DSL and the latest Adobe Flash 10.3 with all the updates. How come throughout the entire webcast I have constant buffering interruption??? Incredible. Has anyone else in the drum corps world had similar problems with the webcast? The video quality was great, except for the annoying frequent buffering. Fan Network, please take note. I doubt seriously I'll get my money refunded. Next year, Annapolis and no more webcasts. Not worth it.
  8. Hello, DCP! Craig S. Myers posting from Rome, New York, which is not too far away from either Utica (once home to the legendary Magnificent Yankees of the 1960's and 1970's) or Syracuse (one two three -- Brigs!!!). The "csm" in my username are my initials. The "rimshot" to you snare drummers out there is obvious. I played snare for most of my drum corps days, from Yankee Cadets in 1968 to the Brigadiers Alumni up until 2006. I'm 52, still have my chops, and kept up with the young-uns back in 1992 and 1993 marching snare with the Rochester Crusaders. I'd love to get into a mini-corps or traditional percussion ensemble that is within a short distance from Central New York State someday. Looking forward to posting and reading a lot of "type-lice" (I'm showing my age LOL) in the future. Thanks for letting me aboard!
