  1. Very cool. How many other percussion caption heads/arrangers have PhD's? I am guessing Paul Rennick....
  2. The picking are slim. 1. BDB - easily repeat 2. Spartans - apply the adjectives from 2009 Citations 3. Oregon - I smell a comback 4. Revolution - they are a good brass arranger away from being top 3 5. Raiders - as long as they don't lose members to their All Age Mini Corps, or the Sr corps in the area, or the World Class Jr corps in the area. 6. Music City - just a hunch based on the signs they showed as a first yr corps. 7. Legends - maybe just a tad more engaging program? 8. 7th Regiment - mature program last year, now need more bodies 9. Velvet Knights - no progress unless they learn how to march and recruit a guard & staff 10. Dutch Boy - see #3 11 Forte - why does a corps from Texas (the hotbed of membership) need to hold camps any place their staff has ever lived, taught or bought a postcard from. 12. Colt Cadets - welcome to finals! 13. Racine - highest finish ever 14. Stentors - see above 15. Blue Saints - first time in semis 16. Spirit of NJ - if they dont compete in DCA, DCE or BOA So my question is, do they revise the finals week format to remove the semi finals show if there are less than 17 corps or will there be in influx of new corps competing in Open Class?
  3. Would DCI make more of it's current fans happier by repealing the rules allowing the use of synthesizers or by moving the world championships out of Lucas Oil Stadium? Please pick one, not both.

  5. Ok I will take a wild stab at the underlying story..... Director hired a "staff" from Tx lead by this guy Chris. Chris brings kids and staff and then is upset when he can not get what he wants from the organization. He bails, takes kids and staff and blames the guy who brought him into the corps. Blame is placed on the director solely and a small corps with limited resources is left high n dry by "professionals" who were unpaid and underappreciated ...... That's usually how the story goes
  6. Ok, so if the brass arranger sucks, the brass caption head is good and the percussion guy just became the program coordinator WHY WAS DARRYL PEMBERTON FIRED???
  7. Well this certainly addresses those who question whether or not members will be attracted by the new staff at Madison. If history repeats itself then you can expect to reach most of the Scouts 2010 percussion section in the 413 area code of Massachusetts. As far as Nick Angelis goes, the leash had better be a short one. His behavior at Colts, Spirit, Blue Stars and Boston was less than desired. He is a very talented teacher and performer. I hope his maturity level reaches those same heights.
  8. I saw the Surf a few times this past season and brass performance was a major flaw. If Mr Cipriano can establish a solid World Class technique program and coordinate the caption head / techs he will be instrumental in Surf's continued development. Good pick up Surf.
