  2. Just a reminder that the 2nd Annual Florida Rally is only a couple of weeks away. Below is a repost of the details of the event. If you can make it this year, please email me with your intentions. Hope to see as many Florida residents as we can this year. REPOST++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Bill Saunders and I are happy to announce that the second annual florida drum corps rally/meet-up will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010, from 1:30PM to 5PM or later at Eastside Bistro, 12001 Avalon Lake Drive, Suite F, Orlando, Florida 32828, This location is easy to find just east of Orlando off of SR50. The owners of the bistro have offered us the use of his space and we have a couple of options. One option would be to have appetizers available for us at about $10.00 per person or less. Another option will be to simply have each person order off of the available menu with prices running from $5.95 to $16.00 (sandwiches to dinners) per person. In addition, the owners will give us happy hour pricing on beer and wine. We will have the use of a TV/DVD for anyone wishing to bring visuals and audio. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU...... We just need to know how many people plan to attend. You will be able to pay for your food and drinks when you get there. If you are attending, please reply to this email at my address. Tell us if you are sure you will attend and how many people will come with you. Also, use this email address with any questions. Hope to see as many of you as possible for a fun afternoon reminiscing a great time in our lives. regards, mike mycek

  6. The Great Connecticut Drum & Bugle Corps Social Network just passed the 400 member point and we are still trying to hit 500 plus members by the end of the year. Our network has twice as many mambers as any of the big guys like Facebook nd Myspace(dedicated to Ct corps) and focuses on past and present members of the many great drum corps from the state of Connecticut. In addition, we have audio clips, videos and over 1000 photos, most of them from members scrapbooks highlighting the great times we had(or still have) in drum corps. Please stop by and take a look. Plus, you dont have to be a Connecticut alum... any drum corps nut is welcome to sign up. regards mikey :worthy:

  9. The rally planned for Sunday, February 22nd is still a go, however, for many reasons, the event will be much smaller than expected. As of today, we have only 15 attendees confirmed. We will still meet up between 1pm and 3pm for lunch and make other breakaway plans at that time. Note: If you would still like to attend the Rally, just show up at the retaurant between 1pm and 3pm. You can pay for you lunch at the door. We would still like to see everyone and have a fun afternoon BS'n about the old days. Rally ReCap: 1st Annual Florida Drum Corps Rally Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 Golden Corral Restaurant Orlando (see Directions) 1pm - 3pm Groups to Split for Adult Beverages after Luncheon Cost: $15.00 per person DIRECTIONS TO GOLDEN CORAL RESTAURANT See you all next wekend. mike
  10. 1st Annual Florida Drum Corps Rally Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 Golden Corral Restaurant Orlando (see Directions) 1pm - 3pm Groups to Split for Adult Beverages after Luncheon Cost: $15.00 per person RSVP by February 1st, 2009 Details The 1st Annual Florida Drum Corps Rally will be held in Orlando on Sunday, February 22nd from 1pm until 3pm at The Golden Corral Buffet on Kirkman Road in Orlando(Directions). The cost is $15.00 per person which includes a huge all-you-can- eat buffet, free drink refills and a tip. Beer is also on-sale separately from the cost of the luncheon. After we are finished eating, it was suggested that groups of attendees could break up and then proceed to a bar or club to finish the afternoon meet and greet. This should be a fun affair, bringing together drum corps nuts transplanted to the South. Its that time of year when marching activites are in hibernation so why not spend a Sunday afternoon "BS'ing" about the good old days. Remember, buffet costs are due by February 1st. Please make checks or money orders in the amount of $15.00 per attendee payable to "Florida Rally" and mail to: Florida Rally c/o Mike Mycek PO BOX 1725 Daytona Beach, Fl 32115

  12. Florida Drum Corps Rally Plans are being developed at this time for a possible gathering/rally for transplanted drum corps members and alumni living in the Southeast, mainly Florida. This event will welcome members and alumni from around the nation. The dates and times as well as the location have not been determined yet but we are looking at a Feb '09 timeframe. Also, the Central Florida area(Daytona/Orlando) may be the location as a centerpoint for those traveling to the rally. If you think you would be interested in attending, please reply to this email. It is NOT a commitment on your part. This is just to give us an idea on how many drum corps nuts would attend. Thank you for your interest.
