No theater or watching most of the day for me. Should get a decent watch of the end of open/beginning of world. Lots of teaching and a performance for me tomorrow (which is going great and which I love). Gonna be fun!

One of the earliest DCI videos I ever saw was a Google Videos compilation of underrated DCI moments with Southwinds 2000 ballad in there. Epic show. Gives me fuzzies seeing them on the up. By FAR their best offering since they refielded.

Southwind show is so well designed for what they have. Love it. Best offering since their return. Toxic Mind close behind though that show slapped.

As always check out open class. Some amazing stuff going on.
We will see four automatically make their way into semis by default but IMO the top three woulda made their way in regardless and we have three more fighting for the last guaranteed spot in semis. These four stick out for me:
Spartans show is a blast. Awesome surrealism theme with a bunch of super spicy music (liked Bluecoats 2016? There is some Ojos de Brujo in there).
Gold has a super dark and exciting show, really great ensemble sound.
Southwind’s show is small corps design to a freakin T. Super fun Cowboys of the Sky building New York show. Would be their first time back in semis since 2005 and all signs are pointing to that happening.
Columbians are the biggest surprise for me. They’re BIG AND LOUD. SUPER exciting show that hits hard. Making semis on their first ever trip to Indy would be epic.

I crave the crowd reactions for this show over the weekend. Gonna be electric. What a year.
The only other corps I think has had a run of shows I love the longest is Bluecoats. Stretches all the way back to 2015 - 2023 for me for Mandarins. The growth is amazing. Get the right people in the right place and they’ll do wonders.

I was pretty eh on this show earlier on but it’s blossomed to be one of my favorites. Just simple feel good drum corps.
