    I think the main reason is it’s a key thing in one of their pieces of source material.   It’s a saxophone solo work with electronics/spoken word.  So the integration is largely from that work 👍

    They're kind of in a no lose situation here.  5th is the ideal outcome and what I want/think they should get in the end.  6th or 7th?  Still highest placement and likely score in corps history by A LOT.  And quickly becoming a destination corps with that staff and the type of shows they're putting out.

    I like it a lot, especially musically, just find the pacing off and the visual program has some problems their direct competition does not.

    So last year when he was with Gold, wife and I went to Marion for OC finals. Because the wife had to go back to work on Thursday, we couldn't stay for WC finals. 

    So we are at the stadium in Marion, and we befriended these three ladies that were sitting behind us. They were SCV alums who marched in the late 70s early 80s. Nicest people you could ever meet.

    So retreat was winding down and they asked us if we were going to be Indy, we told them unfortunately not. They said no worries we got you guys covered. They asked us our son's name and they said they would cheer for him. 

    Fast forward to when my son came home. We are driving home from the airport and I ask him.......

    "Hey by any chance at Lucas Oil did anyone cheer for you.................he goes...........Uh yea I was coming onto the field and I heard a bunch of ladies scream GO DRE!!!...........It caught me off guard as I was thinking........I swear Mom and Dad left Indy yesterday, and how do those old ladies know my name."

    LMAO.

    this warms my heart 😅

    And I believe the judges are the same regardless World or Open. 

    The raw scores don’t mean a lot, there’s usually a 3-4 point drop off at World Class prelims.   But I’m not surprised to see Spartans scoring so well.  Even with the aforementioned drop off that would still put them around 16th right now 👀

    Them and Gold are great.  Love what I’ve seen of Jersey Surf and Southwind.
