  1. Thanks to features run in the New York Daily News and NY1 television news some new people will be coming in this week. The weather will be the best its ever been on one of our rehearsal days this winter so please be on time. The last number of this impossible mission will be passed out this week.

The Rehearsal will be held on: Sunday, March 6 From: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm At the: Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center 9329 Queens Blvd Rego Park, NY 11374 This facility is two blocks from the subway station. Directions are available on the Skyliners' website. Rehearsals for the 2011 competitive season will be hosted throughout the big apple taking advantage of all New York City has to offer. Please consider declaring your interest in the Corps by submitting an information request form via the "Join Us" link from the NY Skyliners' Web Site. Doing so will permit us to notify you of upcoming rehearsals and performances. As always, the New York Skyliners' rehearsals are open to the public. The Open House Rehearsal will be held on: Sunday, February 20 From: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm At the: Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center 9329 Queens Blvd Rego Park, NY 11374 This facility is two blocks from the subway station. This weekend will be the first color guard rehearsal of the season for the Skyliners and brings all three components: guard, brass, and percussion, together which completes the assembly of the performing units of the corps.   6. Being in New York City has it's advantages. MASS TRANSIT!!! Rehearsal is still on for tomorrow. Those of you driving in should use your discretion. Please don't take any unnecessary risks. If we don't see you tomorrow we'll see you on February 20th.

  8. Prospective Color Guard members should stop in to a rehearsal and speak with the administrative staff about performance opportunities with the corps.
  9. The New York Skyliners are pleased to announce a collaborative agreement with the New York City Parks Department. The Skyliners will conduct some of its rehearsals at parks department facilities making its program available to parks department constituents. This program brings a summer music education program to an area especially hard hit by the recent budget cuts and offers another opportunity to serve the City of New York. The New York Skyliners are hosting a rehearsal for percussion and brass at the new facility this weekend.   10. In the case of a weather cancellation, check the Skyliner Website the day before rehearsals. If there is a cancellation, it would be posted on the main page by 9pm the evening before a scheduled rehearsal day.

  15. Very well thank you. How can I tell? It seems as if the members didn't want to go home. They kept playing until they were chased out of the building. At which point the party continued outside. I don't think that neighborhood has encountered anything like the impromptu exhibition put on outside. I'm really looking forward to the next rehearsal on November 21.
