  1. Maybe it's just me, but I have great respect for all screamers and their abilities, but when I go through the Fan Network and listen to the screamers through the ages, I am genuinely surprised that alot of them can get it, yet (in my personal view) their tone isn't that great. I mean i'm not gonna bash them, because I can't wail double G's ya know? so I won't bash them, but I am curious as to if they're that talented is it the equipment that gives them that sound, or is it like those players I occasionally run into that can do it, but they sound edgy. Can you guys that do/have done it explain it to me please? Like I've said I have the greatest respect for them hitting it, and would still fly to my feet screaming if it was live, but I just feel that some screamers just don't have that golden sound. Mainly I don't like BDs, but any year with Scott Dean in it (2003) I adore them, because in my view he has great quality and sounds amazing. Please don't flame me, just asking for clarification from people who have/still are doing it. (there are alot of grammer errors above, sad huh?)
  2. It's really crazy how one tiny little absent/placement of a color & or shape will affect a viewer without them really knowing, unless they look for it of course.
  3. indubitably my good sir. My take is that BD is really clean, I love Cavies drill and they're purdy clean most of the time. On Uniforms I think Darker colored unis look the best, but from an audience standpoint HNC 2009 Company Front (cept pretend the red guy doesnt exist) cause that was some clean mess and if you watch it from DCI's little summer video thing where they pan out to the side on the company front run it's sooooo epic. Im not a HUGE HNC fan, but good night that was good looking. It had to be the white pants that made them look so good.
  4. Infamous words spoken by Clint Eastwood himself.
  5. That's Turrble, as a section leader, if we saw someone doing that there would be some push ups and laps if they didn't shut up. I'd be to afraid of what would happen if out band director EVER caught us doing that..... no joke
  6. Oh and none of this, "it doesn't matter to me," take a side!
  7. Well I was watching Crown Cadets Cavies and Devs the other day and thought this. I know that with white pants it's easier to see mistakes than it is if you're wearing black pants. Usually I take the stance that Cavies, Devs, and HNC are the best all time marchers (in that order in my personal opinion ) So when it comes down to it, do really clean white pants ultra clean drill impress you more than the black pants with ultra clean drill? Such as I love Cavies for the drill and everything, but when HNC starts that runnin' I melt in my chair. Any take on this? Do you believe that if you put Black Pants and White Pants side by side, both as clean as the other to the millimeter, is there one that will still look unclean or what, maybe one just looks bad? I wanna hear some takes on this. 1 2 3 GO!!!
  8. AMEN!!!!! (Murfreesboro is so big compared to what I knew it as a kid, when I was 5 I lived over by blackman and back then it was just hay fields, now im over on the other side of town and attending siegel talk about expansion!) I put 1-2) BDs Vs Cavs: (Come on Green Machine!) I think the score may be close, but regretibly I say I think BDs won't be seriously challenged via score till either Atlanta or Allentown (still I can hope they'll get beat right before my very eyes ) 3-4) Crown vs Coats: I think Crown may surpass Blooo this week 5) HNC: (is it ok if I still refer to them as HNC???) I see them nipping at 4th places heels and that's about it till Atlanta and Allentown in which I predict them passing Coats and goin after "Her Royal Highness" 6-7) SCV vs PR: I call this as the main fight to watch, PR wont recover that quickly because of last year, and SCV is just well in that 6th-7th place hole ya know? I call it as a toss up. 8) BS: gotta love em, but I just don't see it after the Houston scores and looking at their show currently. I hope my predictions go south so that I get a surprise, preferably Cavies winning it all
  9. @jwillis35 Thanks, sounds like google needs to get on this. That clarifies alot of what I thought in that the Ipad was described to me as just a big Iphone.
  10. Never knew that Pyware had a forum, coulda had a V8 (insert forhead slap here) I saw that one video that one guy posted and I think that that is purdy neat in general, although if they ever have the full blown software for Ipad I would buy that in a heart beat! I just thought it'd be boss to be able to touch and drag marchers to spots and make changes quicker than what you can on a computer ya know?
  11. Well instead of this, expand to market first to people who will buy it, A.K.A. Band Kids. So if you sent a free DvD with some cool shows Crown 07, Cavies 06, Devs 03 and what not, out to high school band programs (starting with the biggest down to the smallest) you could hook a fish, just gotta put the copyright program law thingys like they do on Movie DvDs so you cant burn em. If ya get what i'm sayin?
  12. Figured this is the best place to ask this since there's probably a good percentage that some of you write drill. I played with one of my friends Ipads (for the 1st time EVER!) at church today and Im just curious, is the Pyware that's compatable with Mac OSX compatable with the Ipad? Im not an apple owner so I don't know. I thought that it would be pretty boss for a World Class, or any drill writer to have. Any knowlege on this?
  13. sigh this is what I get for logging in and just posting a new topic
  14. mmmk after looking at the scores and watchin a few houston shows here's my take BDs and Cavies duking it out for 1st in the oil can Crown in 3rd HNC in 4th and Coats in 5th oh and Im gonna go for a long shot sayin BK will make it and stay in the top 10 till the end and place around 9th or 8th
  15. nevermind, I typed before I looked, sorry to bother
  16. Why? as we're taught at my school you either do it and perform or you lose, plain and simple.
  17. So in one of our car rides to our last 1st band rehearsal of the season at our high school (sobs) my best friends and I had a political conversation about money funding education, but also funding the Arts and Sports etc. He brought up a point that I was curious about. How would all of you feel about socialist Drum Corps? He said all the money needs to be split evenly between corps and that they need federal funding so that we can expand the activity. He said, "why does the federal government fund education and sports, but yet they don't fund the arts." Besides, technically Drum Corps could be counted as education, arts, and sports (that's just my view, I know people who march) Anyways, he mentioned that if the feds would fund it then it would expand and people who couldnt afford it before could afford it. He mainly pointed that out because he plans on attending Union University (which is like 30 grand+ a year)(he's nuts) that he will pay alot and the fact is many music students at the high school level will attend college, which he points to "dries up the family funds" no matter how much money you have. For this specific reason he says that if equal funding was allocated to Corps then we potential marchers wont have to worry about 4 grand to raise for summer with college tuition, pvt lessons, and all sorts of bills breathing down our necks. (even with a job it's still hard for my college friends to raise money) So what are your thoughts? split alot of money evenly between corps? get more federal aid? DISCUSS (my views are just maybe some federal funding) Im sorry if some of this ran together and is confusing.
  18. Just sayin, that's a load of crap, the federal judge has no place to determine that, but rather the college sports associations, anyways I have quite a few friends at my school who are competative cheer leaders (dated a few myself ) and I have to quite disagree. However you can't say DCI isnt a sport in my view, it's a sin to do so
  19. I would love to march, but I need some money haha, Next summer I'll have the money to go tryout where ever I wish 10 hour days, along with having to pull 2-3 hrs out of the day (after work of course) also to practice after moving 50 lbs boxes of books to our local school systems all day Anyways 10 bucks an hour, I can do that. My parents just pay nearly a buck a min for lessons each week along with all of my band fees, instrument up keep fees, gas, car insurance, so I suppose I can fund my own way when it comes to corps I definately want to march atleast 2 years, hoping the finances work out, and I know I should march anywhere, but when you're taught for your whole life that you had better be the best then going for the big time is kinda engrained in my head. Plus I want to march under Michael Gaines Drill
